I was in labor with my babe, watching a movie with my midwife while Scott napped... She was born around 8am on the 10th, 8 lbs 8 oz (and 15 days early). What an amazing year it's been with this babe that was wanted for so long! (Her eyes are really blue because Scott got rid of the red eye, btw!) She is now 25 lbs!

Just born, and now.

We're not getting the flu shot, now that I've read up on it. DD is vaxed up to her 6 month one, but at our appointment on the 23rd, I plan to tell him that I'm delaying for now. I hope I don't get yelled at. lol. I've bought pure orange juice and echinacea and give it to DD each morning.

I swear, you ladies write too much! I can't keep up!

Congratulations Iris and Sagewinna!!!!

I loved the before and after pictures. Thry made me teary! But I had to laugh, because both of my girls have that Hanna dress!

Speaking of beds, I left Emily in bed yesterday and turned the monitor on, listening for the slightest peep, so I could run and get her. Well, half an hour goes by, and I hear a very cheerful and triumphant, "Wah!" as she is crawling towards me! She woke up and completely silently got off the bed without injury and crawled out to the living room. : I watched her get off the bed today, and she did it with all the grace and ability of a gymnanist. Where did my tiny baby go?!

She crawls up and down stairs, now, and my dh swears she said "Hi, Daddy."

Oh, and in answer to the other questions, no, we won't be getting a flu shot, and yes, we use Tylenol.

Oh, and not to scare anyone teething with molars, but with dd1, it was like each tooth counted as four. Each molar has four points on it, which cut through at different spots and different times, not to mention the flat of the tooth, which was excruciating to cut.

Gee, thanks, Bec Sleep has become well, a dream lately. DS is Jeckal/Hyde; a happy fun babe during the day and a nightmare at night. All 4 molars are beginning to show themselves. : DH wants to Ferberize I think I have convinced him otherwise....anyway....

: Iris Those pictures made me teary too. Such a beautiful child.

Didn't we have some other B-Days recently?

Two birthdays today! I hope you have a wonderful day little ones!

Mamas of more than one, I want to know - is it harder to see your little one turn one than it was to see your first? Maybe because I'm not sure if Jesi is my last, I don't know but it seems so much harder on me than when Mikayla turned one. I guess it's just yet another sign that I'm getting old :LOL

I can't believe my baby is one! Thanks for all of the birthday wishes. Henry says Happy Birthday to Iris! :

It has been such a bittersweet day. I've spent the entire day thinking about being in labor (oh, at this time I was doing this, etc.) and my eventual unwanted c/s and being a little upset by that while at the same time totally rejoicing over the amazing thing that was the birth of my ds and is now this crazy (in a good way) toddler sitting in his high chair beside me shredding his cheese into itsy bitsy pieces. At the time I am typing this, my ds was not yet born but I was pushing. I keep fighting back the tears. I even cried when I sang him Happy Birthday when he woke up this morning. Where has the time gone?

Today, Henry started standing from the ground w/o holding onto anything. He's been choosing to walk most of the day instead of crawl. He's officially toddling. My baby is very much not a baby anymore. He's even trying to use a fork to stab his food and eat (not very successfully yet, though).

I'm having serious baby fever today -- and have been for weeks. If not for desperately wanting a VBAC, I think we might have been starting to try by now. But we'll wait another 6 months or so. What amazes me is that 6 months ago, he started sitting and that only seems like yesterday. It will be just the blink of an eye before we start trying for another little one.

I'm babbling away here. I'm so happy and so sad all at the same time. We're having a party for him on Saturday with our families. Except for the stress involved in having everyone together, it'll be a blast. I can't wait to see his face when he opens gifts.

we went and looked at the house today. its totally ruined. The roof needs to be totally replaced, as does and entire wall on the really leaky side. The entire house is block construction, which means *NO INSULATION*. the boiler and water heater are shot, the baseboard heaters were also shot. FIL said, "the only thing that will help this house is a match!" it would cost more than its worth to fix it. so i guess I'm back to searching again I feel like i need to hurry up b/c FIL's DW keeps circling rentals in the paper and suggesting that if we rent, we can move faster than if we wait to buy.... she's being nice about it, but i know what she is implying. I've been so upset all day. I really hoped this was it.

Maybe she's circling apts because you have made it clear you only want to "impose" on them for as little time as possible??
Your sitting here thinking she doesnt want you there but mabe she's thinking the same way(that you dont want to be there)
It takes awhile to find a house and you want to make sure you have the right one!

DH said the same thing. I think she is trying to be helpful, not neccesarily "hurry up and get out" ykwim? its just so hard to beleive that someone wants to genuinely help us after all we have been thru with MIL, and i think i am being too sensative about things. I'm gonna lay low tomorrow and look up some more houses. I found some possibilities in the paper, and DH and FIL went driving around and found some possibilities too.

I hope you find something soon, Christy.

Happy Birthday, Henry!

Iris was talking a LOT today... 3 new words, clear as a bell... I asked a friend if she wanted water and Iris said "wahwah!" and wanted a drink! She also said Ah-ma (for Nama, my mom) and Bubba (for her brother)... I told DH that the non stop chatter is starting now! lol

Jessica has made up her own little language. She rolls her tongue and make a sort of "babiloliblaglob" sound. It's times like this I really wish you could hear through the computer! It's so hard to explain a sound :LOL Anyway, it's so cute because she'll crawl through the house making this noise, and she says it like she's really trying to get her point across, then looks at you like you're crazy because you can't understand her - so funny.

Well, 1 yr ago today I was walking around the zoo with my mother and my two girls - ok so I was waddling. Mom took a pic of me with th elephants behind me - how rude! At 6o tomorrow morning I was o nmy way into the hospital and 6:41pm tomorrow night is when she was born. I can't believe it's been a whole year

I have had a crappy day today and didnt feel very chatty.
My baby did just say "'yeah" though while clapping.
She took 3-4 half steps today and 1 whole one. She has been standing alot without holding on to anything. And, she is fresh just like her mother!
My sister told me we should call her "The littlest WickidaWitch"
I'm thinking maybe "WickidaWitch in training"
I'm scared! She is gonna be just like me!!!

Ok, my friends... It has been a while since I had a baby around (the others are 7 and 10) and I forgot how much lovin' gets interrupted! Geez. Oh, and how old does Iris have to be before I stop falling asleep before I can proposition dh?? (The worst is when I proposition him THEN fall asleep! lol)

Sorry you had a bad day, Tammy. Hope tomorrow is better.

Sherri, I totally re-lived my labor and birth! It seems so long ago now, to me anyway. The kids had fun remembering what we did and how Iris looked when she came. Sage still has a piece of her cord on his bookshelf, the midwife cleaned it and he rolled it into a coil. It dried that way and looks really cool. He wanted to make an earring out of it, but I told him that was wierd, even for us!
