My 4 month old pooped all day yesterday. I didn't count but he pooped almost every diaper change and in the middle of the night and 2x today already. He normally goes about 3x a day and not at night. He doesn't seem to be feeling bad but I am just concerned. Some poops look normal and some just watery. I did call the doc but he hasn't called back. Should I be concerned or is this normal? My friend told me babies do this when they are teething. Is this true? I've never heard of it.

i spoke w/ the dr. i just thought he might be getting dehydrated since he has pooped about 8 or 9x in the last 24hrs. but he seems to be fine.

sorry if i am being silly but, i just don't want to overlook something and it potentially be serious.this is my 1st dc and i am very new at parenting. i have not been around very many children so i am just now learning as i go.

I could have typed the exact same post. DS is 4 months and has been pooping A LOT this week- some normal, some parsely poo, some watery. He's teething.

Cheers!

cheers, I was about to ask a similar question. Our ds has pooped about four times in the last 10 hours and this is not usuall. So I was wondering if something was up as wll, especially since its not a pattern to poop so often. He is five months and could be part of teething I suppose. Anyway I was just wondering if he should have extra water with the breastmilk, since he is at this time breastfeed only.
