Jodi -- yikes, what a mess. Fingers crossed that things take a turn for the better.

Kate, you've got two beautiful girls there.

Korwyne - Ignore me if I'm telling you something you already know: you can rent (I believe) ozone machines (look like a giant fan) from places that do flood and fire restoration/carpet cleaning companies. If your insurabce covers flooding, they'll pay those companies to come in, dry up the stuff, remove the mold and mildew. The ozone machines will dry the heck out of everything and make the mold and mildew go away.

debi - and others using the suction bulb - the ayr saline gel works wonders!!! just put up the nostril with a qtip and then give it 5 min or so to work before suctioning.
and i so understand your reluctance to dose up sami - i hate the fact that we have to do it to adrian. as long as she isn't getting orally defensive, i bet she'll be fine. does she suck on toys/fingers etc? when adrian was really orally averse and didn't want to nurse at all (we had to syringe feed half the time), he would not suck on anything or put his fingers in his mouth. now he sucks his thumb all the time

He's 12 weeks today and weighs around 13 lbs. smiling in his half-sleep now as i nak.
He really has some loud, powerful farts lately that wake him up and make him cry and break my heart! Any ideas about what could be causing it?

I love the pouty passport photo!!!

Jodi, that sucks about your house...the whole thing sounds overwhelming. I hope it all works out okay.

We are now pros with the suction bulb - I never knew how, um, aggressive you really need to be. After seeing what the respiratory therapists do in the hospital, that little suction bulb is nothin'. As long as it helps her breathe....

Here are some recent pix of Zoe and her big sis.

Is anyone else having trouble with a fussy baby? I cannot put the baby down!! I didn't get anything to eat today until 1:30!!!! He does really well at night (praise Jah) but I cannot catch a second during the day. I can put him in the bouncy chair but if I'm not right next to it--like to pee or get something 10 feet away in the kitchen, he starts crying.

I don't mind holding him all day --that's what I'm here for-- but I don't like how upset he gets over just a miniscule separation. My goal for tomorrow is to track down Dr Sears' Fussy Baby Book.

We had a complete horror show today when I finally attempted to get myself some food. I thought that drive-thru on the way home would be easy because he was sleeping. He woke up...we got trapped in the drive-thru for 17 minutes. People were honking and walking up to the window, Owen was SCREAMING and shaking and sweating. He wouldn't take the binky. There was nothing I could do but sit with him in the back seat until I had to pull the car up so the people behind me wouldn't freak out more. IT SUCKED!!!! I was so upset that I didn't take my food because I didn't want to give them any money after that.

I don't want my baby to be upset and needing, but I absolutely have to get an inch of slack somehow. I also haven't had any time to pump, so by default, this is the end of his breast milk supply, too. There is no way I can justify letting him cry while I pump, and I can't hold him and pump. I think I need a different sling that I can't afford, too. The New Native doesn't seem to fit the two of us well. I have a moby type wrap that is better--but hard to deal with quickly while Owen is freaking out.

Waaaaaaaaaa....sorry for the long vent. I know alot of you have big challenges of your own right now.

Can you all come over for tea tomorrow?!!!!!

On a happy note, Owen got over the drive thru incident and was a happy baby as soon as we got home.

I'm back at work (at home) so not much time to read and write in the last few days...but as always, I love you mamas and look forward to a December thread with you!!!

Hope you all had a better day!!

jodi - what a horrible turn of events! good luck with the flood, the visit, etc. and leila is around the same size as adrian

adrienne - ugh, i hate those car scream fests. we have them sometimes too. if he is fussy in the car only 50 mph makes him happy. oy. and way to go on pumping for your guy for SO long! I know it wasn't ideal, but just think of how much you know now about bfing that you can apply to help friends or with any possible future kids

and all the pics are adorable!

Thanks, mamas for the lovely pics. Makes my heart melt to see so many happy (except for that passport thing ) yummy babies!

Adrienne - so sorry about Owen's fussiness. Hate to sound like a broken record, but Annabelle's fussiness pretty much ended overnight when we started ECing. I think it is the combo of no tight-around-the-middle diapers and pants and no sitting in bad dipes. On the other hand, put her in the car and she just cries and cries most of the time .

ETA - my spelling sucks in the morning!

Me : living with and loving papa and the kids: Dd1 8/97 , dd2 8/04 and my sweet baby ds 5/09 : :

Adrienne - Hugs. Am I wrong, or does separation anxiety start right around 4 mos? I remember taking DD1 to grandma's at about 5.5 months and she would ska-REEM if she couldn't see either DH or me at ALL times. Grandma was all psyched to get some one-on-one time with her grandbaby and well, she could get it as long as mom and dad were hovering nearby. LOL.

Zoe still has no interest in tummy time, but can now grab things and put them in her mouth. Although usually her fingers are in there instead...we can see her two bottom teeth under the gumline, but not feel them, so I think teeth will still be awhile....but she's definitely into chewing EVERYTHING.

And I really don't know how she'd ever sleep without the swaddling blanket. Thanks to you mamas for bringing up the subject many moons ago and saving my sanity!

Question: for those of you who are vaxing, how has it gone so far? Has anyone gotten Pediarix (DTaP, HepB and Polio combined)?
