Hi Ladies,
Just wanted some opinions here! I have a friend who has a 1 yr old. At the 6 month app't the Ped told her to not give the baby too much water- that there is water in juice and formula and that giving extra would only dilute the baby;'s blood and cause blood clots.
This makes NO sense to me- water is better than juice. And diluted blood doesn't cause blood clots- it would have the opposite effect. But I can't really see water diluting the baby's blood at all- unless they were drinking tons of it.
Any thoughts????

Edited to add baby is FF

it's not good to give lots of extra water to newborns, because it can cause water intoxication. but by 6 months, that's not really an issue. obviously you don't want water to be the #1 liquid being consumed, but i wouldn't worry about it.
