The Oilers won last night!!!! Apparently one of the best games ever. I just go by what DH tells me when he gets home as we don't have TV anymore (and is that ever nice BTW!)

Meli - talk about ignorance, I don't even know what tribe the aboriginals belong to. I know in Manitoba they are mostly Metis or Cree, but not sure here. They're not Eskimos (I actually don't think you're supposed to call them that anymore) or Inuit, but they definitely look different than in the South - I'll find out. The weather here is HOT. We are so close to the "land of the midnight sun" that we never have full darkness, just twilight at about 3 am and then the sun comes back up. Yesterday it was 30 C (sorry, I don't know Fahrenheit very well) but because the sun is up all the time, it is hot when you get up and hot when you go to bed.

Sage's tongue injury seems to be healing. She fell yesterday and just a tiny bit of blood.

Hope everyone has a good weekend, we're off to Canmore for my cousin's wedding. Sage is supposed to ride down the aisle in a wagon with another 1 year old. We'll see......

Oh Anne, make some popcorn or something!! Eating should take your mind off of the poas obsession. I want a smilie that is looking blissed out on dark chocolate. That's all I would have to put in my sig. Ahhh...

My kids stopped by the office for lunch. That's always entertaining. They smile for everyone and I try to keep them out of the drawers. I didn't get to see them much last night because of a meeting and they were still asleep this morning when I left so this was fun to see them. It's too windy to go to a park so DH was trying to break up their day. As a bonus, they even ate some lunch. Usually they are too busy just running amok.

Anne do you want to play a game? Would that help?

it's so easy!

finely chop up tomatoes, fresh mozzarella, fresh basil, put in a bowl. add chopped garlic (raw if you really love garlic, cooked if you don't). let marinate for a few hours.
boil spaghetti, drain. add the marinated stuff to the bowl while spaghetti is still HOT (so the cheese will melt). serve. that's all!

it's so good and easy.

no time to do the quiz today...i am in the middle of my bonified vacation with dh. we went Shopping today...i spent SO much money..but it felt SO good...i didnt hardly buy a darn thing for the kids, it was alll about ME. that's right, ME. Do you know how long ithas been since I bought clothes for me? that fit?

Y'all were talking about being hungry all the time, and weight.

Am i hungry all the time? Yes
Am I skinny and / or losing weight? NO.. BIG FAT FREAKING SIZE 14 NO:

I actually am a size 14. How sucky is that. One thing I bought for the first time ever is workout clothes...nice tanks and pants that are silky for working out...things i can jog in..that should be interesting...

ANd our drama for the day......drum roll please.........

Ds fell down a WHOLE FREAKING FLIGHT OF STAIRS this morning...15 or 16 to be exact. I had to take him to Childrens Hospital ER. I was in the shower, and dh was on kid duty, and i get out of the shower and i hear thump*grunt cry, thump cry, etc all the way to the bottom of the stairs. I came flying out of the bedroom screamiing at the top of my lungs....i was FURIOUS. absolutely furious, and I was in momma bear mode. I snatched him from dh(who finally arrived on the scene from other side of house: ). I called the dr, and they sent us to childrens.

He checked out fine, but he has serious goose egg bumps on his head....ugh.

And at this time one year ago this very minute, i was posting my last post on here, saying things were beginning t ofeel right and I probably wouldnt be posting anymore for the next couple days. I thought we would leave for TN the next day, but little did I know that just a few hrs later I would be in the bathroom floor pushing a baby out! With just me and dh! I love to think about it....

gotta be in bed now, we have more stuff to do tomorrow....

I'm afraid to see what I am. Before our wedding I lost 40 lbs and went down to a size 14. Gained 30 with the pg, but in totally different places. I know I'm no 14 now.

OMG! Go, BamaMama Bear! I hate having to be so detailed and specific with DH when I leave him in charge of DS. Don't forget the meds, he'll need a nap around the same time as the meds. Why, oh why would they have been on opposite sides of the house?!?

Ooh. Where can I read this story?

I'm off to work on my quiz. Probably won't post until the morning because it's 2am again! Argh. I need more control over my days.

Accent: California with a little Texas once in awhile and an almost imperceptible lisp
Book I Like: Too many! How about Child of My Heart by Alice McDermott. Beautiful happy/sad story.
Chore I Hate: Cleaning anything in the bathroom -- vile.
Dog or Cat: Dog, although I don't have one right now.
Essential Electronics: cell phone -- I don't even nurse without it; TV -- same.
Favorite Flower: lavender
Gold or Silver: silver (and black )
Handbag I Carry Most Often: tan Save the Back bag
Insomnia: hahaha! I'm the one that posts at 2am!
Job Title: Sign Language Interpreter on extended maternity leave; Mommy & CT for short
Kids: 1 DS, hoping for 2 more
Living Arrangements: 3 of us renting the house I grew up in from my Mom
Most Admirable Trait: Loyal (ranging from being like a mama bear to protect my friends to keeping their secrets)
Naughtiest Childhood Behavior: Not being nicer to my mom. I still struggle not to act like a 13-year-old when I feel she's manipulating me. But the naughtiest thing I thought about doing was to consider throwing my brother through a plate glass window. I was 5 and he was 2 and he called our step-dad "Daddy." Pissed me off something fierce. The only thing that stopped me was that I knew grown-ups were close enough to grab him from me before I could actually toss him, so I didn't try. I still feel guilty for thinking it though.
Overnight Hospital Stays: 4 days when DS was born because of c-section, 1 night when DS was 1 month old (stayed in his room), 5 days in April for his heart surgery (stayed in his room again). Hospitals seem so "normal" now, it's odd that I was barely in them before last year.
Phobias: Ants. I hate their hive brain.
Quote: Mark Twain quoting Benjamin Disraeli: "There are three kinds of lies - lies, damned lies and statistics."
Religion: Presbyterian? Not a practicing anything. I have a dread of religion and a love of faith.
Siblings: 1 younger brother, 37
Time I Wake Up: When my Biscuit Alarm goes off. My alarm clock is set for 8:00 so we don't miss morning meds, but I can't remember the last time I heard it.
Unusual Talent/Skill: Fluent in ASL, but I don't know if that's unusual. Maybe my uncanny ability to recognize voices, esp voice-overs on TV and in movies.
Vegetable I Refuse to Eat: cooked mushrooms
Worst Habit: staying up late instead of going to bed
X-Rays: all dental related -- the little bite-wings every once in a while and a full head one before having my wisdom teeth removed.
Yummy Stuff I Cook: Mostly chocolate dessert items (I worked at a bakery), but I can also make a mean Cioppino (Rachel Ray's recipe)
Zoo Animal I Like: Giraffes, I think because they seemed the friendliest and least discontent at the local zoo when I was a kid.

OMG, bama! that is horrible! I'm so glad ds is ok. how did dh explain being so far away when he was "on duty"? I would be SO mad.

So yesterday I started to feel a bit dizzy and really really really THIRSTY. I don't remember any dizziness but I remember being extremely thirsty at the very beginning of my pregnancy last time! I mean, at the very beginning when I didn't know I was pregnant yet... which might be where I'm at... though it's probably even too early for that yet!

See, it's way too early, I think:
http://www.fertilityfriend.com/home/ex-stasis

I'm sort of psyching myself out though... thinking that I'm pg... but I better NOT be! Because that would mean that TWO methods of birth control have failed for us and then what would I do?!!! Actually, this time around it would be two methods of birth control failing AT ONCE. I've been thinking about it though and if I am pg, then dd and the next one will be just about 2 years apart, which I think is ok, though a little earlier than planned.

Anyway... I'll stop talking about it because I'm probably not pg! :

OMG bama! im so sorry. i'm glad he's not seriously hurt. i would jump down dh's throat like there was no tomorrow. then again, a fall down our stairs (old house big wooden staircase) would probably have much more serious consequences.

selena-oooo, you have a very pretty chart lets hope it's just all the pg talk around here that's got you thinking.

weightloss- i'm a 14/12 depending on the clothes. i don't ever remember a time i was skinnier than that. it just seems to be where my body feels comfy. or the fact that i've got "birthing hips" i think even if i were sickly skinny i'd still wear a 10 because of those damn things.

weird thing-so last night after my shower my boobs hurt a lot. i then noticed i had milk leaking! this hasn't happened since ds weaned at 9 months! after he weaned i had a little left for maybe a week or so afterwards but nothing since then. i'm guessing that was because he weaned himself and my supply adjusted to him. but yeah, fricken weird.

anne, mama to Isaak (6.13.05) Joe (2.24.07) and Eli (8.17.09) wifey to J since 2002 petparent to our retired racer "Under Rated" aka Jango.  help put an end to dog racing!

Bama....holy crap, I would've flipped the heck out. So glad Schuy is ok.

Selena - the day before I found out I was pregnant, I left work early thinking I had the flu. I was lightheaded, pale, woozy, nauseous...the next day I tested on a whim, and blammo.

When Cully was like, 8 weeks old, I had a couple days where I had TOTALLY convinced myself that I was pregnant again by some random fluke because I was woozy, etc....ugh, talk about sheer terror. Right after that I went on the mirena,
keep us posted!

time for our walk to $tarbuck$ before it gets too hot.

Selena - wow that looks like a pg chart to me! Guess we'll see!

I found out last night that one of my friends is pg... unplanned. She's planning on placing the baby in some sort of daycare while she finishes her last semester of college which makes me sad as that will be the first months of the baby's life... but good she's finishing school I guess. At any rate, I'm planning on gifting her with books as she is so not the AP sort... A Thinking Woman's Guide to a Better Birth, and maybe Sears' The Baby Book. Dunno if she'll be swayed by them but we'll see. She thinks I'm a nut so I want to let books speak for me. Oo, maybe Our Babies, Ourselves....

Bama! How scary, glad he's ok! I would be MAD too. Glad you had fun mama shopping.

Whew, last night we had my MIL and FIL and BIL and his gf over for dinner... we served bbq pork loin, roasted potatoes, corn and for dessert I made a peach-blueberry upside down cake. It was yummy and we made enough food and was a nice first dinner party in our new house.

I guess I am lucky in that my MIL does not directly criticize the fact that we cosleep but she asks often whether we still are and says how nice it will be when she's out of our bed.... and DH agrees. : But he doesn't say anything directly about not liking it either. I personally love it but I have begun to think about her own bed, too, and nightweaning... not making any plans yet..

What are those of you who are cosleeping planning on doing for the transition, and when?

eta - Happy birthday Schuy!~

Bama, I just re-read your birth story, and got all :

Fey - sometime here in the next few months, I will get a small mattress (probably a twin) to put on the floor in Cully's room. I can close off the rest of the house so that if he wakes up, he only has access to his babyproofed room and an empty hallway, and our room. Like I did with Sam, I will lay down with him and put him to bed on his mattress, then just bring him in when he wakes up. He tends to sleep longer if I'm not in bed with him (he KNOWS when milkies are nearby), so we'll see how it goes. As of right now I'm not in much of a hurry, but I'm pretty lazy, too.
