Hey Mamas,
I have a few friends whose babies went through so much trouble with their teeth, they were breastfed and not given sugar when they started eating foods, but still their teeth became brown and needed extensive dental work (ouch). Does anyone know how to avoid this? My son is almost 8 months and has 2 little teeth and is entirely breastfed.

I think all you can do is wipe them down or brush them frequently. You can just use water. Proper care and a healthy diet is part of it, but genetics plays a big role.

I hear so much lately about babies and toddlers with rotting teeth. What is going on ?? I would say it's our trashy American diet but I'm hearing this in regard to EBF babies, and babies and toddlers with good diets. Was it always this way? My mom never got any cavities herself until she was about 35, but since then she's had several. I had I think 1 cavity on my baby teeth (when I was an older child, not as a baby or toddler). I have plenty of fillings in my adult teeth.
