What do all you mamas and dads use for nick names and terms of endearment for your kids? I love to hear other parents' creations!

My family calls dd T-Bone because her first name starts with a T and we don't want her to end up a Koko. My family are avid Seinfeld quoters.

I use Bunny, Bunny-girl, and bug-bug. I have no idea where these came from, I just started calling her those. I think they're kind of lame, actually - but, that's what my subconscious came up with!

Postpartum doula & certified breastfeeding educator, mama to an amazing girl (11/05) and a wee little boy (3/13).

i'm the queen of coming up with weird, off-the-wall nicknames for people that i love. (ex: dp's nickname is "poodie doo") i have no idea where i get 'em, i guess they just come from my heart! : i call dd "biddle", and NEVER call her by her real name. i'm afraid she won't know her real name at all! the funny thing is, everyone in our immediate family calls her "biddle" too. it just stuck. sometimes we'll call her "little chunk" too cuz she's so chunky!!

Our dd is: Pretty, Pretty
Pretty, Pretty Princess
Pretty, Pretty Girl
Princess
Elmo
Monkey
Pumpkin Face
Emmy

She actually responds to Princess (we use that the most). We are now trying to call her Princess Emily so she will know her own name.

Our next little girl's name will be Pandora, and if anyone thinks I won't be calling her daddy's little panda bear, they got another thing coming!

Bram's nickname is Buster. But we use it more like in place of "the baby". So like, if I'm talking TO him, I would say "Buster"... but if I was talking to DP and asking him to go get DS or something I would say "Go get The Buster". LOL So its "Buster" or "The Buster".

Carly [29] + DH [27] + DS [9]

I've used a number of the names mentioned here. We have *all* kinds of nicknames for our kids, many involving food as PP mentioned (sweetie pie, butteryboo, peanut, sweet potato, spinach head [or whatever they happen to be eating at the time plus "head"], sweetness, peanut pie, etc.).

Lately I have been calling dfd and ds by shortened/singsongy versions of their names plus "moo" or "boo" at the end. I have no idea where this stuff comes from.

I'm pro-adoption reform, but not anti-adoption.

This seems to change in our house, but lately I've been calling dd Munchie. Sometimes we call her Stink-pot (like when she cries at the babysitter's). DH's nickname for me is Queen Bugaboo, so sometimes we call her Princess Bugaboo.

Liam has many nicknames at the moment

Our son's name is Micah and immediately after birth we took to calling him Micah-loo. Now it can be either that or....
Bubba-loo
sweet Bubba
Bubba-loosk
kiddo (pronounced keedo)

Who knows where these things come from!?

ETA: MIL heard me call him Micah-loo and looked stricken. Ds already has two middle names and I think she thought Lou was a third! LOL!

Jessica, wife to Mark, homeschooling mama to Micah (2006), Noah (2009), Owen (2012) and another on the way this August (20014)

And today dh called her twinkie. She has on a pink hooded pullover and she looks just like a cupcake with pink frosting.

We wonder if she will ever know her name. Where do these names come from? I have no idea.

dd used to have tons of nn's. Now she's most commonly known by me as Booga Shmooga or just Booga Shmoog and by dh as Pumpkin Patch. And she knows the difference too..If dh asks her if she's his Booga Shmooga she'll reply, "No..I'm mamas booga shmooga!" And vice versa

I call ds my Bugger Boy. Or just Bugger.

I've called my almost 5yo Chase "Bubby" since he was born. Don't know why. Other things we call him are Chaseman, Chaybo, Chaseface, and Chaseydoodle. My niece came up with Chaseydoodle when they were about 2, and it has stuck.

Anna Kate is usually Annie or Katiegirl in our house, but other nicknames are Annabel, Anna Banana, Nanner, AnniKat, Sister, Little Sister, and Tink. My son calls her Rhino Kate from time to time for some strange reason, and my dad calls her Onna (like Ana, I guess).

Of course, we also have nicknames that are not specific for either child -- Sugar Bear, Cupcake, Sweetie Pie, Darling, etc. And my husband calls Anna "Toots"!

You know how a newborn will open an eye, look around and clearly not recognize anything? DH and I thought it was just like how a squid eye looks. Squid became Squidge, and it stuck.
