DS has been getting more molars, so we give him frozen teething rings. He bite them so hard that the ice in them are busting up, and they melt really fast. My concern is that he is going to bite right through the plastic and the liquid is going to get in his mouth. Is it safe, is it just purified water? Thanks

Try the cloth teething rings (they have some in classic Pooh at Target that work great). If you need to, dampen a section and refrigerate. I wouldn't freeze anything as it can be harsh on baby's gums -- but chilled is fine. Or you can try baby washcloths, etc. Some mamas use frozen breastmilk popsicles. Again, the frozen thing is a personal choice.

No way would I consider using the teething rings with the gel inside. Heaven only knows what that crap is and I wouldn't chance it.

I always thought they were just purified water, but I could be wrong. Have you tried wetting and freezing a baby washcloth? My babes loved chomping on those!
