DS (almost 5 months) started getting congested again this week, I figured yet another cold because the snot is color, not clear and he is coughing and sneezing a bit. however, this is the first time he's ever had diarrhea and I'm trying to figure out why. I think he is starting to teeth as he likes to chew on things.

Normally his poops are the usual breastmilk (darker yellow mustard). but he started off on Thursday with productive toots and since yesterdays has had the runs. It's quite watery and a lighter green/yellow color. He also has a bad diaper rash in the groin area for 3 weeks now. Got antibiotic cream a week ago and I thought it was starting to get better (drying) but it doesn't seem to be.

Do you think these things are all related? How long should the runs last before I start to worry about it? I'm thinking of taking him to the ped's tomorrow anyways since the rash is not going away. How can I tell if he's dehydrated from the diarrhea?

I tried to answer my questions first by doing a thread search for diarrhea but it didn't help.

thanks!
