writermommy - your kids are adorable! LOVE the slings!!!

Mamamoose - welcome - your babe is also precious!

Gumby - I think as long as he is still rear-facing (with seat installed properly) and airbags are off, I don't think it is the end of the world. If you only had a two-seat vehicle or a pick-up, the baby would be there. The most important thing for safety is rear-facing I think. I would still put him back into the backseat though after the trip.

The one plus of having kids so far apart - the babe is not used as a chair or footrest

WE HAVE OUR FIRST TOOTH! On the bottom - finally poked through and the one right next to it is about to pop as well!

I have a super baby! He went all day yesterday on only 30 minutes of sleep - and was as happy as a clam about it! We had a karate thing for ds1 and then ds1's party at a bowling alley so he was not going to miss anything. I thought he might sleep better that night as a result but nope. He was up at every 45 min or so and then at 4am was ready to play What a stinker

for those of you who asked- the twins are great. growing like crazy and mobile now so it's just a whole new level of insanity. the biggest thing i am proud of is that we have been successfully nursing this whole time. there were days i didn't think i was going to make it, but here we are at almost 8mo old and they are breastmilk junkies! at last check Finn was 19.1 and 30in and Illyria was 15.13 and 28.5in. everyone is always so suprised how old they are since they expect them to be smaller than the average 7mo just because they are twins.

Lorelai, my 3yo, told me tonight as i was snuggling all 3 kids to bed that even though she gets frustrated when Finn takes her toys, she still always loves her baby brother.

well, all 3 are sleeping-- totally rarety-- so i'm going to go clock some quality spouse time, if you know what i mean hehehehe!

so nice to "see" and "hear" about all of your beautiful babes!!!!

Kate, good to see you! It's interesting, I know 5 sets of twins and all are slightly smaller than the average and slightly behind on milestones and such, but I think it's because they are so often pre-term and those things tend to be compared to their birth day as opposed to their due date... Since you were a freakin woman of steel!!!!!!!!!! carrying them until what, 40 weeks? this is a moot point! In fact if I remember correctly, I think my ONE baby was smaller than ONE of your two!

Congrats Nathan on that tooth! We have nothing here, but R seems to be working on something. At least I hope she is, or she is One Pissed Off Infant for No God Reason. She's gnawing her blankie a lot though, so a tooth is probably on its way.

Cute kiddos Writermommy! "The baby ate my homework" is a new one on me but I'll bet it catches on

Glad you checked in, Amy! It's been kind of quiet around here.

Has anyone heard from Kim?

Good Monday morning to you all. It's raining here, and if I ever completely wake up I'll have a better idea how this day will go.

juice, i hope the baptism is nice - are you having a big shindig after? Is this a catholic baptism? This is totally none of my business, but I've got catholocism on the brain (in a good way).

How are things going for you today?

ETA: Just after I posted this, I had to tell dd1 to get off of the baby again. Her response? "I'm just riding horsey!"

Kate - good to see an update from you! Awesome that you've been nursing successfully!!!

Sabbath - glad to see you are feeling better. What has changed? Did you catch a break or get to see your friend? How are the greener pastures? I haven't had time to visit. I am swamped with what I already read.

I am really starting to hate condoms. they really do affect the *performance* blah.

Hey, everyone. I've had some major stress going on here and will probably be moving somewhere this weekend. Not sure where yet. It's a long story. I've posted elsewhere if you wanna know. To answer a questionasked of me long ago, it is the first time Emma has gotten into my make-up. I don't usually let her have access to the make-up bag. I usually keep it in the glovebox of the car, but one day my lipstick melted so I had to carry it in and out. I got a new diaper bag and it has a place for my make-up. She was exploring the new diaper bag. My mom is a Mary Kay consultant and she puts make-up on Emma at her house. I gotta go.

Hi everyone!

It has been SO long since I posted. I had tried a while back and posted a long paragraph about Macy and how we were doing and it didn't go through so I vowed I would come back and try again.
We are doing great! Macy is crawling and getting into everything namely things she isn't supposed to (cords, envelopes, magazines, the dog's paw). She is laughing and smiling so much my face is starting to hurt from smiling so hard at her.
She is a big gal and weighed in at 21 lbs. 11 oz the other day at the pedi. She had her clothes on as we were just dropping by so I guess about 21 lbs.
We are taking a trip to Baltimore in March. My husband has a conference and we are tagging along. It should be lots of fun. We are hoping to check out the aquarium while there.
It is so good to get back here and read up on things. I need to read this thread more carefully though to really find out how you all are.
I keep the beads we all exchanged hanging next to the window upstairs by my rocker and it reminds me of what a great group of women you all are and how much it meant to me to find this place. Thank you!

Take care and hope to be back more often!

Well the basement is a mess, but we're going to survive. We spent all evening sorting sopping stuff, and then went to bed. But today is another day, and the good news is it's so cold it's not likely that the carpet will mildew very quickly.

Amy, to answer your earlier question, it's an Episcopal baptism, fairly low-key. We're having a brunch after, but nothing huge. We're only occasional churchgoers, though I get a lot out of it when we go. Must contemplate that.

Hi, Rachel! Your babe ought to love the aquarium! Babies love fish tanks

:guh, Juice. I cannot imagine dealing with the water. I think I'd still take on Valentine's day than a flooded basement.

Still missing Kim, and where is Kimya?

Come out, come out whereever you are!

On a much happier note....it's official...we've all passed the half-year mark!

My : is six months old today!!!!

Tanya, I am officially revising my position. I'd take AF. Apparently I have to have someone come rip out the carpet and pad and professionally dry things, and it needs to be done ASAP. Ummm... my basement is full of stuff!!! Where am I going to put it all?? And since I'm not the only person dealing with this right now, all the water damage companies are backed up and will try to get to us "By Friday". And my family is coming to town for aforementioned baptism this weekend... this is more excitement than I was really looking for.

But as always, it'll get done.

Happy half year mark!

JJuice, flooding is such a hassle! I had an apartment that would "rain" from the bathroom light fixtures. The landlord said that it happens occasionally and just to let him know ... um, isn't there electrical wiring in light fixtures? Luckily I was only in that apartment a few months! Are you going to have to replace the carpet or any furniture?

Sabbath, I just now saw your post about you and your DD. s and :guh How are you doing today? Have you seen the naturpath yet?

DS rolled over for the first time yesterday (well, he did it a few times at 3 weeks old, but they were all accidents). He wanted a better view of the TV. He couldn't see it from where he was before! I've enjoyed his lack of mobility, I don't know if I want this yet! Am I strange for wanting DS to be slow in his mobility?
