I'm a little worried about my baby. 3 days old, and he had 2 big poops today, but only two pees, as well. One was in the diaper, and the other I caught over the sink, as I was trying to encourage him to pee with a little warm water. Both times the pee was darkish yellow.

My milk is in, he's eating lots and I'm making sure that he empties the breast when he eats. Is this something I should worry about or will he soon be wetting more diapers?

You'd expect to see 3 pees for a 3 day old, 4 for a 4 day old. Keep feeding lots

His pee will lighten up probably very soon... darker pee is pretty normal the first few days. Remember the pee count is over a 24 hour period - so at day 3, 3 pees in 24 hours is what you want. I agree about waking your baby to feed... sometimes they are so sleepy after birth, they need a little help getting going.
