August was just crying and when I looked inside her wide open mouth, I saw on the right side gum, towards the back, a big dark swollen area, looked like a tooth before it comes in, but a dark grey or black color. I pushed on it, and it was soft and squishy, and she screamed worse when I touched it (though she was already pretty mad at that point because she wanted to nurse.) It looks like a big bruise on her gum.
Should I call her doctor about this? Is it a concerning thing? Shes a little fussy, but only since last night and I think thats because her sleep got messed up from the holiday.....
I'm guessing if it is a bruise, its from playing with the baby we watch (they play kinda rough), or from the other day when she hit her face onto concrete trying to walk and scraped up her nose/lip pretty bad. That was a week ago though......

Normal teething can look like that, just fyi. A big, dark, purply bruised area on the gum. I noticed it especially with the molars, but some babies get that with all their teeth (and some don't at all).
