I think you'll get more answers if you post in Life With a Babe....this forum is for questions and suggestions about the boards themselves.

In fact, if you go to the Life With a Babe forum and do a search for sling (look in the lower right hand corner of the page for the search function) you'll be up all night reading! :LOL

The short answer is, there is no one perfect sling for every mama and every baby. There are pluses and minuses to all of them. You may end up with more than one, as your preferences and needs change over time. That said, I think the Maya Wrap is a good choice and very versatile.

Two sites that have good pages of sling comparisons are

Kangaroo Korner

and Peppermint

You can also often find Maya Wraps and other name-brand slings on the Trading Post here (when you're eligible) and on ebay.

Hi! I was just poking around on the site and saw this. One great way to learn about the slings is to go to a La Leche League meeting -- I would say 99% of the women in LLL in my area are sling users, and my group even sells them as a fundraiser. You can ask questions, try them out if they have them for sale or if you have mothers there who offer (I've given a few demos to new moms), maybe even find a "sling mentor" to give you a hand. Also, LLL is just a great place for moms and moms to be! (shameless plug alert!)
