Ok, so I was set on the Ergo until I saw all this talk about the baby back tie and the Packababy. Now I have a few questions:
If you got the Packababy did you get the shoulder pads?
Could DH wear either of these? DH is 5'10" 200 pounds and is muscular with broad shoulders. I have 4 slings and he used to wear the Bjorn when DD was little. We are expecting again in October so it is important that we get something he can use too.

I have the shoulder pads but frankly I think they are useless, they are too long and don't add anything to the comfort of the carrier and I am using it with a 28 lb toddler.

I would say your DH would fit the Packababy just fine, the straps seem very long to me, but I would double check with the manufacturer to be sure. As the straps are webbing if you need longer ones it would be easy to make you one with slightly longer straps, but I doubt you would need it.

Another question about packababy please!

Does your baby fall asleep easilly in it? I need something that the babe will fall asleep in so I can keep doing things during her naps. I have an Ergo, and I love it, but it takes her a very long time to fall asleep in it and then she usually gets disturbed when I put that head flap up so her head doesn't flop when she's sleeping.

Thank you!

I have never used the Packababy with a baby, only a toddler who to date hasn't fallen asleep in it. I did loan my Packababy to a friend to try out with her 7 month old and the first time she used it the baby fell asleep for over two hours in the carrier!

The nice thing about the Packababy is the back of the carrier is really long and supportive, so you don't have to reach back for the flap to cover a sleeping baby's head.

I really want this carrier but I need to know if it will work for DH. All of the pictures on the site show small women. There is no e-mail or phone number so I can't contact the makers

I know that is so annoying. They didn't respond to my emails for a couple plus weeks and I ended up calling them, the owner was shocked at how I got hold of her number-- the details were in my paypal receipt info!

I no longer have the email they used to contact me because my email crashed a while back but here is the one they use for paypal: positiveparenter@yahoo.com

PM me if you want the phone number, I am reluctant to give it out online as it someone's private phone.

I am also really interested in both of these carriers. I have a couple questions about the packababy. What is the comfort? How easy/hard is it to use?

I am kinda nervous to deal with a company with no e-mail or phone number on the website.

I am trying to decide on a back pack carrier. It seems it has come down between baby back tie and Packababy. Ergo is too expensive.

I just put my packababy for sale on the trading post if anyone wants to try it out. My dd who is 6 months still likes her new native pouch best and we are tight on money these days so I am passing it along.
