Well I started our daughter on her first solids and she has been rash free all of her life until now- she is 5.5 months old. I started her off with rice cereal and breastmilk- very diluted with breastmilk. Then I added a little of banana in the rice cereal and breastmilk. I never let dd sit dirty or wet but she has a very mild rash. Do yall think this means she is allergic to bananas? What other foods can I expect this from? I don't want any of the acidy rashes I have seen other mommas talking about- okay well I would like to avoid them if I can.

Unfotunately every baby is different. My guy cannot do anything with gluten he has Celiac disease and it causes pizza bum. So I would lay off the bananas and see if it goes away and reintroduce them in a couple of days and if it happens again you have your answer. We have also had rashes when ds is getting teeth or the soap is not rinsed out of the diapers. It may not be the food. Good luck rashes are very frustrating.

My dd would go bright red on the bottom from carrots. I assumed she was just a freak, having never heard of this reaction in any other babies. Then ds came along and it's the same with him. Tomatoes do a number on him too.
