Okay...so my daughter was born Oct 17, so about 2.5 months old. She has a fever of 100.4, but otherwise seems fine. She doesnt seem sick at all, isnt really fussy or anything, and I dont really feel that she needs to see a doctor. BUT...everything I have read says a fever of 100.4 or higher in an infant under 3 months is bad and warrants going to the doctor. I am waiting on a call from the nurses, but wanted to ask you mommas in the mean time. Also, if she seems fine and not uncomfortable or anything do I need to give her tylenol to keep her temp down? I dont want to, but if I really should I will...
: This is all so much harder when it is actually happening, to MY baby!
I'm sorry your LO is sick. I wouldn't take her to the doctor just yet. My general rule for a very young baby is 102+ sees a doctor. I also wouldn't give her Tylenol unless she seems uncomfortable.
My dd had about the same temp at 3 mo and my doc said just tylenol and if it doesnt go down or it raises to or around 101 take her in. I would just wait until your nurse calls back. Im sure everything is fine because if it were to serious your nurse would have called back in minutes!!
How is your LO now? My doc said NO to tylenol as they wanted to see if it did get too high as it might say something is wrong. I guess every doc is different. I hope your LO is better now.
Just wanted to say that Lorien is fine. Her temp went up, and then back down rather quickly with no tylenol (thank goodness, I hate that stuff...) and all is well. I think it was just a little teething fever. I am certain she is teething, and she didnt seem sick otherwise...so.
Thanks for the help ladies.
