Does anyone have any advice for cleaning diaper bags? I don't know how to describe the fabric, maybe a mix between cloth and vinyl? Its Carter's and was a very cute pink when I bought it, but now is getting pretty dirty. I'm thinking black might have been a better choice. Anyhow, I've tried spot cleaning with soap and water, but that doesn't seem to work. I'm wondering if I can put it in the washing machine. I have sent an email to carter's asking them, but if anyone has any input, I'd love to hear it.
Without knowing the particulars of your specific bag, I must say I think it's very likely to be designed to go through the washing machine without problems.
Can you imagine anyone making diaper bags that must be hand washed? There'd be a separate circle of hell for anyone who did, I'm sure.
It is very important for a mother to clean the diaper bag of his baby very nicely to get rid of stains. You just use the antiseptic liquid to wash the cloth or diaper bag.
I wash it on cold, hand wash cycle (or gentle cycle). Then I just hang it up to dry. I have a different brand, but this is how I've cleaned 4 diaper bags for 4 kids and so far no issues.
I take the bottom panel out of mine and throw it in the wash with the rest of my clothes. Hang to dry. I have a Carter as well.
