Hi,I was wondering if someone may have some experience with this? I discovered a breast lump the size of a pea directly behind the right nipple of my 5 month old daughter. Immediately I went online and discovered that it may be a breast "bud" from my hormones. I took her in to the doctor today and she says it feels like it might be a bud, but to bring her back in a few weeks to make sure it hasn't grown. I feel kinda panicky. I wanted her to say it was a definate bud today so I could stop feeling so worried.

Has this happened to anyone else? Thanks in advance.

Terri

funny you posted this today -- my husband and i just discovered the same thing with our 6 month-old dd over the weekend. i researched the breast bud thing too. haven't called the ped on it as we aren't getting the "it's serious" feeling from it and it isn't red/warm/irritated... kind of waiting a few weeks to see if it changes/goes away before making any calls.

I think my dd has the same thing. Is it something to worry about? I was just going to wait and see if it changed.

She also has inverted nipples. Do all babies have inverted nipples?

i was also going to mention that. dd also has inverted nipples. i have a pediatrician close relative -- that i consult quite often lately! -- that says they are pretty normal.

Thanks guys for replying.

Freemom - It is not serious if it is a breast bud, so don't get all panicky like me!!! Lol. I am at ease a bit more today thinking that is what it must be.

Thealee - weird that you just discovered this too. Is it on one breast only? The interesting thing is that a few weeks ago I looked at Kai's nipples and thought they looked inverted too. This was before I discovered the bump.

Anyway, carrying on here and trying not to obsess....take care.
