I'm so excited about my new nursing necklace that I have to share. Its from Julia Bristow jewellery. I remembered seeing her fertility keychains mentioned in the ttc forum and decided to check her out. She was a pleasure to deal with and my dd loves the necklace.

Lovely!

Someone in my ddc made me a nursing necklace but dd is too little to care much about it yet. I can't wait until it can serve its purpose!

Gorgeous!

What are the "rules" about nursing necklaces? Do babies tend to yank hard on them or not?

I used to wear a chain with a diamond pendant and she yanked on that much harder. With this necklace she holds it more than yanks & holds the flower pendant. I really thought she was going to break my necklace before. I think the only "rule" with nursing necklaces is not to let babe play with them alone.

Depends what you mean by rules. Some nursing necklaces can withstand HARD tugs and others can't. They should be made to withstand a little one's tugs, pulls and yanks and not fall apart. That's the whole point of a nursing necklace. They also should be made with lead-free materials (Swarovski crystals have lead, for example) and not have components that are going to fall apart and post additional risks like magnetic clasps.

Leslie - So pretty! I was just wondering about nursing necklaces. I got 2 lovely necklaces right around ds#2's birth but they are not made for nursing -- really delicate -- so I haven't been wearing them much!

I had a great fertility charm from Julia Bristow and will go check out her site for nursing necklaces.

I think we might be getting one of these. He is so distracted while nursing now-a-days.

Does it really help you guys out?
