Okay, my 3.5 month old hasn't pooped since Monday (it's Friday now). When he went on Monday, it also had been several days and he went 4 times. He doesn't seem uncomfortable, nurses constantly, and has plenty of wet diapers. I have read that some babies go once a week, it just seems a little weird. Is this okay? Anyone else has a baby with these habits?

i haven't experienced it yet, but i've read that it's normal for them to go long periods of time.

As long as your baby seems comfortable there's no problem. My DD2 goes up to a week without pooping and DD1 regularly went 2 weeks between poops. They sometimes got/get a bit gassy but that's it.

They're just using all the milk you give them very efficiently so there is very little left over.

My mother tells the story of how I was a very regular pooper. Once a week, like clock-work, in the church nursery. My mother was very happy with the situation (the nursery workers less so).

Hee hee.

Yeah, another poster here to say it's totally normal, provided that when the poop does happen it's not little pebbles or anything. My daughter was like that when she was a baby. Made EC a lot easier.

Completely normal. My girls used to go 12 to 16 days between poopings. As long as the BM is soft and not hard pellets and the kid seems happy and not constipated, then I would not worry.

Normal for my dd, too. Before starting solids she would go at least a week in between poops. Seems like she'd always save it up for when we were at the library and mama had forgotten the wipies.

Mama to two sweet girls, Flowerbaby (2) and Moongirl (9)
