What type of soap/shampoo do you use if you bathe with your baby? My current thing is "cheap with smell I like" shampoo that I then use to shave and such.

For myself, I use Aubrey Organics shampoo and conditioner, and bar soap (whatever "natural" type soap is on sale). I like to avoid shampoo, etc. that contains phthalates, parabens, and other risky chemicals. For dd, I use only dr. bronners mild baby soap. I usually shower myself first while dd sits and plays with toys, and then I bring her into the shower with me and wash her. Final rinse for both of us and out we go.

You might want to check out safecosmetics.org for info on the safest personal-care-products for you and babe.

I second Dr. Bronner's I use Peppermint scented myself and baby mild on my baby. However my older two like "smelly" things so we use Jason Kids shampoo now. I used to really like Burt's Bees until the whole Clorox buy out deal and now I am not too confident in them...

I use whatever I use for myself on DS when I bathe with him. When I bathe just him without me, I use his soap.

First, let me say that I never used soap on my babies unless they were really dirty or stinky. I just washed them with plain water, a washcloth, and let them soak. If they were really dirty, I used Dr Bronner's baby mild soap then followed with an olive oil massage/rubdown. I also used the Dr Bronners soap on me and I no pood myself with an ACV rinse. I usually showered before bringing baby into the shower or tub with me, but if that wasn't possible I would just wash my hair and everything with the Dr Bronners.

Dr. Bronners mint, or California baby lemon-mint (I think those are the scents-- it has some chi-chi name).

We don't bathe her more than once a week, though we do wash her face, hands and feet several times a day.

This site is really good too.
http://www.cosmeticsdatabase.com/

I just bought some Burt's Bees shampoo, not all of it is low-risk, I got mine thru a Frontier co-op.
