has anyone used a pack and play next to their bed?
I have an "bassinet" insert for the pack and play. I was thinking when DD falls asleep I could move her into the bassinet.

I've done that. You can't really be right next to them because it's not a true co-sleeper (kwim?), but it works out well for us.

We do that. The pack n play bassinet is lower than the mattress by a bit, but it works really well actually.

Yes, we're doing that right now. DD outgrew her bassinet, and I still wanted her next to us in our room. We had the PNP downstairs, so we brought it up to the bedroom. I thought about getting the Arm's Reach, but I figured if the PNP could serve the same purpose, then I could save some money, and if it didn't work, then I could go get the Arm's Reach. So far, so good!

My 10 month old sleeps in her arms reach as a pack and play. I also bought the extra organic mattress so she could be comfy in it. I put it about 6 inches from my bed. She sleeps just fine and that will be her bed until she gets to a toddler bear bed. I tried sleeping her with us and she hated it : (
