DS is almost 3 days old, and he pretty much sleeps constantly. He wakes to feed, has short periods of awake time, and sleeps sleeps sleeps! He wakes up at night once or twice calmly to eat and thats it. I can lay him down anywhere...he doesn't wake up! I can get him in and out of the car seat...he stays asleep!

DD from day one slept for like 15 minutes a few times a day- she was a difficult one and still is. I had to take her with me to the bathroom and nurse her on the toilet because she was so fussy, lol.

Have I just been blessed with an easy baby??? Lol.

Amy, mommy to Ava, 6, Gavin, 4, Lila, 2, and Baby #4 due in early November! joy.gif

yup. Some babies are just "easy" that way. Mine is although now we've hit the 4th month mark, he's not as easy to go to sleep so enjoy it while it lasts!

my ds was like your ds and my dd was like your dd.

Enjoy him! I think of Terran as my "dessert" because he's grown up to be sweet, affectionate, and extremely loving as well as "easy".

Aren't we lucky that we got our sons when we knew enough about babies to recognize how special they are? My own mother and a good friend of mine had easy firstborns and couldn't figure out what was "wrong" with their subsequent children.

My dd was like that for months - probably 4 months or so before she was awake for reasonable amounts of time. She also started sleeping through the night at 5 weeks or so. I will say that she was quite a bit slower to hit her milestones than her perpetually awake and alert big brother - less time awake means less time to practice!

yep, normal. DD slept a lot in the very beginning. like, all the time if she wasn't eating. hell, she'd sleep through diaper changes. she was actually super easy for about the first 6 weeks, then one day she "woke up" all the way and hardly slept at all for the next few months

so i'd say, enjoy it! hopefully your baby will stay easy, but maybe not--DD isn't super easy now, but she's not that hard, either.
