My dd is getting her first tooth and is having a hard time with it. She won't take ice, teething rings, etc. In order to get her to sleep I gave her some tylenol but I don't want to run to it everytime it hurts so I was thinking about getting her an amber teething necklace.

Do amber teething necklaces really work?

I think they do. At least for some! Dd started sleeping WAY better when we got hers from the first night, and tho she goes through cycles of wriggley teething pain sleep, I think it's pretty good overall, kept in check as it were. She also LOVES her necklace and we get a million compliments on it. It's also a great way to ID fellow MDC type moms at the park/store/etc

It works for us, too. I have two, and the one with the larger and darker pieces seems to work better, I don't know if that is significant or not! I don't spend a lot of time comparing the two, I just go with the one that works the best!!!!

Love DD's. : Will be getting myself, DH and DS one soon. Maybe even a second for DD.

I don't think it is a "miracle necklace". However, I do believe that it does help her enough that I would defiantly recommend them to everyone.

Does anyone else get horrible reactions from people when they see it? Maybe it is just the people I know IRL, but you would think I had a noose around his neck! :

I haven't gotten any horrible reactions so far. People definitely comment! People think I'm starting her on jewelry already. I let people know it's a "natural analgesic" and they seem interested. Maybe because I'm older-39- people don't seem to hassle me very much for any of my "weird" things. Who knows?

I *think* it works but I can't really tell. We still use tylenol when she's obviously in pain. I get a lot of positive comments about how it's a cute necklace. I'm not really the type to put jewelry on a baby so that prompts me to explain that it's a teething necklace. People are usually interested but skeptical, just like you and me!

Does anyone have a certain brand or company they like better? I know Nova Naturals has one and I love all their other stuff...

I don't think that it helped my ds. It was cute though.

I got mine from madebyfinn on hyena cart...I think that was it.

Good luck.
