And not just occasionally. He's 12 months and he regularly(or, rather, not so regularly) poops only every five to ten days. This is my third child and I don't remember my other two doing this. He doesn't act like he's uncomfortable. His tummy is not hard. I think it bothers me more than him. He used to poop every day, every morning at the same time. This has been going on for at least two months now. Should I worry? Any suggestions?

That's normal for an exclusively breastfed baby, but at 12 months I would suspect eating solids and pooping more often. Have you talked to your pediatrician?

Created an instant family (7/89 and 5/91) in 1997. Made a baby boy 12/05 adopted a baby girl 8/08. Ask me about tandem adoptive nursing. Now living as gluten, dairy, cane sugar, and tomato free vegetarians. Homeschooling and loving it.

Good point about solids. Are his stools very dry? Does he have pain passing them? If not, I wouldn't think it was a problem.

I eat solid food and once a week is regular for me.

Everyone's different.
