I've decided it's time to potty train my 2 yr old DS. He's showing all of the signs he's ready, except he's regressing a bit at the moment because of the new baby, so we'll probably get ready for a month and do it then.
His poopoo is really strong smelling and honestly I have to struggle to keep from gagging on the smell. I definately don't want him to see any negative looks on my face.
Yesterday I started to come down with something and I told my 14 yr old DD to get the 2 yr old up from his nap. I heard her go into his room and shriek, "What did you do?!?"
He had poo smeared all over his clothes and had pulled out a new pack of wipes, and every single wipe was strewn around his room. I ran up toward his room and gagged on the smell from down the hall. Thank goodness my DD took over and cleaned him and his room up. (She's a good girl.
) I guess my DS was trying to clean himself up, or change his own diaper or something. Normally, he hates to be dirty.
Anyway, I went online and bought a bunch of simple potties to put around the house, training pants, and big boy undies. I'm debating whether or not to get this:Scotty Doll
eBay has a few listed for less, but I don't know about spending money on something like that. I've been spending a lot of dough lately, however I do want to do this with as little fuss as possible.
I plan to put all of his diapers away when the day comes, and tell him no more diapers, and then stick to it.
Anyone experienced in this stuff?
I taught my 14 DD to potty train way back when while on a camping trip and I showed her how to go outdoors. Unfortunately, she would try to pull her pants down and go whenever we went outside for a couple of days after that.
