We use little man, too. Stewie and Stu, as well. But the worst nickname was one DH came up with. Stuart has issues with pooping--he really, really hates it. So we always try to encourage him by making a big deal when he does, especially if he hasn't screamed for half a day prior to it. So one day he had just pooped and I tried to tell DH "Stuart pooped" but I tripped over my words and just said "Pooart!" : DH thought it was hilarious and now uses it when he opens up any possible diapers--"Are you Stuart today, or Pooart?"

This will really need to stop before he understands what it means. It's quite horrible. Hopefully none of his future junior high school classmates will ever figure that nickname out on their own, either. One of those things you just don't think about when you're picking out names! :

Well mostly we call him Thare-bear, and Kearnan calls him Baby Brother or Tharen Panda (I am not sure why he thinks his brother is a panda ). When I was pregnant we used to call him Lumpy, and he still gets called that alot. I also sometimes call him my Chubbums, but I am trying to stop that. Sometimes we call him Buddha baby because he has that big buddha belly and a very calm air about him. Especially when I am carrying him Kangaroo style in the sling.

When we picked the name Tharen we planned on calling him Renny for short, but it just hasn't caught on yet. I really just fell into calling him Thare-bear. Dh calls him Frosty the midgie alot too (his middle name is Frost). He actually made up a song for him to the tune of Frosty the snowman. He and Kearnan sing it and Tharen laughs at them.

where to begin...

Josephine
Jo
Baby Jo (as opposed to grandma Jo, who we named her after)
Feeney
Josie
Joey
Blubird
Indigo Eyes
Indigo
Indy
Jem
Jemmy
Sister
Baby Sister

oddly she is sister and her big sister is Baby or The Baby, although occasional we refer to Josephine as the baby, but it isn't really a proper noun when we call her Baby; as in she's a baby. KWIM? we confuse people with the whole Jewely is THE Baby thing. They can't figure out who we are talking about. Poor Josephine won't know her name, everyone has diffrent shortened versions of Josephine and Chris and I never choose just one.

courtney

Courtney and Cree, baby made 3, added one more then there were 4, sakes alive, then we had 5, another in the mix now we have 6!

A Momma in love with her Little Women-Jewel Face, Jo Jo Bean, June Bug, and Sweet Coraline.

then of course the random terms of endearment they both get.

i forgot Josephine also gets Josephiney-Beaney (and Jewel Bean)
Josa (josa Josa)
and Jose (not Ho-se but simply the first syllabul of her name)
Josephina (but prounounced with the h sound like you were speaking spanish)

i could keep thinking of more things we call her but you get the idea.
on occasion i have been known to say snookums and goobley glop.

you guys had to get me started on nicknames didn't you.
my dad has nicknames for all of us kids

matt-duke
Amy-Weasel, weez, weazey
Meghan-Bucky, Buckey bear
Meredith-Guppy
Me- Snow cone, co-co nut, coconut

to me a nickname is a special way of expressing your love for them. I call my sisters, Aims, Meggles, and Mere Bear. My husband is Chirstopher (original huh??noone else really EVER calls him that).

courtney

i swear i won't add anything else for at least 24 hours....no matter what.

Courtney and Cree, baby made 3, added one more then there were 4, sakes alive, then we had 5, another in the mix now we have 6!

Livi gets called a number of names. When she was a newborn, we called her Snarfy and Frogella. Now that she's bigger, we call her:
Chicken
Wigglepotamous
Stinky (only dh calls her this)
Livers (her Aunt Sarah calls her this and we call Auntie Cirrhosis
when she does)
