If it's any consolation, I am right there with you. Moira is doing her DAMNEDEST to pull up to standing, and she is a week shy of 6 months... if she doesn't get it in the next week or two I will be very surprised.

Joie looks very pleased with herself in any case

DS1 was an early achiever, although not as early as your kids. I was so proud when he walked at 9 mos.

Now, I hope Will wants to take all the time in the world before making those first steps. Amazing how having a few kids around the house changes your perspective, isn't it. I don't envy you one bit, Claire, but that Joie sure is a cutie as she's racing past those milestones!

Will sat up unassisted for longer than 5 seconds today, and he's now rolling front to back and back to front with ease. I'll be happy if he camps out there on the milestone roadway for a while.

Ahh, see, that's the thing though. So far my three have been early to move, but teeth... OMG. Jude got his first two on his 1st B-day. And, Cicely got her first one when she was 14 months. You all might have teeth now, but 9 months from now I'll probably be jumping for joy that Joie has her first one!

Crazy, how kids are, huh?

Apparently something to make them mobile quickly, but teeth really late!

Thanks! Joie wasn't actually as pained as the expression on her face. She was trying so hard to get a paintbrush and then I clapped loudly to get her to look at the camera.

Ok, someone JUST pm'd me about my siggie. They said that Yard Apes is a derogative saying!!! omg. I love that term. It's endearing to me, but I changed it. Man. That's so sad. Why does something cute have to be bad?

How is yard apes derogatory? I'm guess a racial thing maybe??? I've never heard that term before your siggy today, and I thought it was really cute. Damn PC country of ours.

Well, I went and looked it up. It has the racist meaning & then this meaning:
http://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=yard+ape
Check out #3.

Here, I thought I made it up! I guess not.

Ahhh, maybe I should put a disclaimer in, too!?!?

I like "paint the baby". Yeah, yard ape isn't a very nice term.

Yikes on the pulling up though, Claire. I'm happy to be "bringing up the rear" on the mobility front with my non-rolling 7 month old.

I feel for you. Luka just turned 6 months, sat unassisted (for minutes at a time) at 4 mos. and has been crawling and pulling up for two weeks now. AND has 2 teeth! Poor me!
This is new territory for me, as Julian was perfectly average in milestones at this age. Sat at 5 mos., got first tooth at 7.5 mos., crawled at 9 mos., walked at 12 mos., etc. Julian is super smart, creative, and athletic at 3.5 so I can't imagine Luka's early achievements mattering much in a couple of years. It sure is funny and scary now, though! If only he didn't have such a good dirty shoe radar, it'd be okay.

What is it with dirty shoes? I even tried giving Moe some clean ones to play with (we have a bunch of baby/toddler shoes that have literally never been worn - my mom is crazy for them) but no, she prefers my nasty old Tevas.

alright now from her pulled up point, she's letting go, standing for a second or two, falling and repeating. Thank goodness we don't have ceramic flooring!
