I had the most wonderful dream about my birth last night!! James and I were on our way to the hospital, but decided to stop at the Library to check out a couple of books. While we were there I sat down, and this really nice lady who was a midwife offered to check me. She did, and I was 3 cm, then I had a contraction and she checked me again and I was 8 cm!!! All of the sudden I had to push, so I did, in a rocking chair in a little section for quiet reading!!! Out he came, and he was so beautiful. He looked just like Gracie, only not quite as chunky as she was, and he had long black hair. We wrapped him up, I nursed him, and then we went to the grocery store!!!

Much better than the other night when I dreamed I had my boy at the hospital and they took him away and James and I were fighting to sign an AMA letter so we could leave the hospital. That dream was downright scary!

So, anyone else dreaming of birth, good, bad, or ugly???

Well, I had a dream a while back that I sneezed too hard and the baby came out.. and I've had a lot of birth dreams, but none that were vry clear or memorable. Most just involve birthing and holding the baby..

I'm getting really nervous, though!!

I have had hardly ANY birth dreams since becoming pg! I keep waiting for them!! A few nights ago, I had one where I labored, but never gave birth. I leaned over the bed on my hands, and moaned, and was pleasantly surprised at how easy they were to deal with. The moaning was more for my benefit than any pain I was feeling. I was sooo happy throughout the whole thing... and then I woke up.

I've had several, and my DH has had a couple, and we always have a baby girl! Hmmm...

Most of the time in my dreams, birthing is quick and easy! In one of them, the midwife did not make it in time, and my DH did everything! I'm taking that as a sign that I trust him to take care of everything!

On the other hand, the people who have told me about their dreams about me going into labor have not been as nice. I just tell them to shut up.

I dreamt that I had bloody show and just climbed into bed to go back to sleep. When I woke up I ran to the bathroom.........nothing. Just a dream. I don't really feel ready for my birth and I think my baby/body know it!

Most of my dreams are about things that I don't want to happen....in the worst one I had the baby in a hospital and the nurses took her to the nursery and would not bring her back. In the dream I fell asleep and woke up the next day, freaked out because I realized I hadn't nursed the baby yet! Oy...I don't like those at all!!!

I'm not sleeping in long enough stretches to get REM sleep anymore!

Jen- I bet anything you are having a girl then. I dreamed the night before I found out I was pregnant with Gracie that I had a little girl, she was all bundled up in a pink snowsuit. The next day when the test was positive I was confident it was a girl. This pregnancy I had a dream about a week or so after I found out I was pregnant, and it was about this adorable little boy who was about 2 years old. He was in this bright primary colored outfit of blue and green and was wearing a baseball cap. So, I knew it was a boy, and the many ultrasounds I have had back that up!!! It's weird, but the mind and body are a powerful thing!

I am so stumped on what I think this baby will be! I feel like I'm carrying the same way I did with my DS, but I get girl vibes from time to time. We shall see!

I have had several. Most involve a very nice peaceful labor and birth. They also commonly have a short labor and often I birth too fast for my tub. That is a big thing for me as I really want a water birth. My mw is letting me have the tub as of Jan. 3 because she knows how much I want it and her other clients are uninterested (at least those due in the same time frame.)
