So y'all have a two yr old right? When she's 6 or 7 do you think it would be okay if at dinner time she starts saying, "Mama, this is yucky! I want McDonald's! I hate this!"? I hope the answer is no, it's not okay, and it's not okay for your DH to do it either.
Seriously, he needs to grow up. If your mom or his grandma or some friends' invited you over to dinner is he going to pull that stuff? He needs to treat you with the same respect.
