I decided I desperately needed a break aso I took today and tomorrow "off".

It is supposed to rain all week long, and dh is on a business trip.

So here's what I'm doing:

Right now I am eating bonbons and staring at the computer.

This morning i put both kids in their carseats and drove around and around, with kids' music in the radio. They were both happy with the music, and I was happy not to have anyone climbing over me or spitting up on me.

Dd1 fell asleep in the car. After she wakes up (I moved her into bed), we will watch at least four videos and eat popcorn (we are usually a strict no-TV, one video every other day family).

After that, I will draw a huge bubble bath and put all three of us in it. We may stay there for hours (or until the kids complain). I'll just keep adding hot water to the tub.

I'm ordering pizza, to h*ll with cooking anything.

I'm not doing bedtime tonight. They can both fall asleep whenever and wherever they want.

Tomorrow, perhaps we'll spend all morning in bed reading. I most certainly am not going to clean a friggin' thing, or do laundry.

And that's as close as I can get to a vacation for me. But I think it'll work.

Hey, that sounds like fun!

When the kids were younger, I did PJ days, when we'd all be in our jammies for the whole day and have lots of yummy snacks and watch the kids favorite videos. Enjoy your vacation!

good for you!

i've been on similar vacations in my youth. that's how my mom dealt with my dad being out of town. appearently my dad is the only one who needs a sit down evening meal. :LOL it was my mom reaction to my dad telling her about the trials of staying in a hotel and eating out every meal.
