Try being trapped inside with a possibly bipolar 6 year old, a 2 year old who seems to think she's a teenager, and an almost 3 month old screaming beast : Days like that make me want to run away and never come back.

Sometimes when it gets too bad I put in a movie and let them veg in front of the television. I know, I know, Bad Mommy. Before that, I try playing games, singing songs, dancing, etc. Basically, you have to make an ass of yourself to keep the kid entertained.

Do you have a car? On rainy days when DS seems to need a change of scenery, we'll sometimes head to the mall's play area so he can roam and interact with other kids for a while. If you don't have a car, it'll be harder to not get a little cabin fever on those days -- I try to alternate our setting inside as much as possible, like playing in DS's room first thing in the morning, in my room midday, and downstairs in the afternoon. It seems to help a little.

And baths have always been a lifesaver for me on otherwise crazy days -- DS always loves a bath, and his mood just changes -- afterwards, the house feels much calmer.

Good luck to you!

AAAAAAAARRRRRRRGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHH! (and I don't mean that in the fun "I'm pretending to be a pirate way.")

There is another FOOT of fresh snow outside and it's still falling.

I hear you sister, I am going nuts too. Wish we could get together, going crazy is always better with company.

and here i was picturing you with an eye patch and a parrot on your shoulder :

i found at 11 months emptying was a favourite pass time - i remember actually giving one of mine a couple of boxes of tissues to empty and the odd toilet roll to unroll - it kept them busy for quite a while, then i just shoved the tissues and tolet roll in a carrier bag and used them from there.

I found it was best to just go crazy. :-) Much easier after that! LOL

We got a little indoor trampoline for dd, and it gets rid of lots of extra energy. Also, there is a play place at the mall that we will go to when we need to get out.

Other then that, crazy is just the easiest state of being...and keeps you intereesting to the hubby. LOL

with smiles,
rebecca

I've given DD mid-day baths before when she's been bored. Playing with bubbles is also fun. When all else fails, turning on some really loud music and dancing together is always fun!

I do something messy. Fingerpainting on the kitchen floor, then bath, then mop.
Makes me clean my floors.

To my husband I am wife, to my kids I am mother, but for myself I am just me.
we're : with and : and

I totally had this problem the other day when we got 5 inches of snow
then today I wanted to go out and run errands and found out that DH forgot to leave my one and only car key in his pocket which left me without a car AHHHH
so I took it upon my self to get a new car key. which involved a beautiful three block walk to the dealership down the road to get my new key cut so I could get out of the house:
crazy day, but I made it there and back and out to do my errands...now its naptime

I find that crazy does work.

Toby's too little for a trampoline but likes to jump in his crib!

We're in central Mass, and we were getting a rain/sleet mix. If I don't have to go out I won't!
