I have a few questions about the difference between "visits" and " page views"

I *think* visits are unique visitors that have checked out your site/blog while page views is total hits. So for instance, if a person goes to your home page and three other pages, your visits would count it as one while your page views would count it as four. If that sam person comes back it might not count them again on visits but it would on page views. I could be wrong.

Yup. That's it exactly.

Visits are counted per visit not per visitor, so if you go back again, it's a second visit. I think it's based on how it's pulled up, though, so if you visit a site, read something you like, move on but keep your browser open, then later return to the site using your Back button, I think that would still be the same visit as the first time.

The length of run-on sentences, however, does not affect Google Analytics.

Here's a decent overview of the program:

Also, if you google "guide to google analytics" - no quotes, the second result is pdf guide that looks like it's put out by Google.
