I know some of you are doing Script Frenzy on April 1st, and I just wanted to get myself hyped a bit!

I wanted to hear what you have so far as preparation- research, inspirational film-watching, music, etc.

I love Script Frenzy almost as much as I love NaNoWriMo!!

As I've said before, I'm obsessed with my NaNo story, so, I'm being super predictable and making into a Movie!

As preparation, I am going to make sure I have plenty of coffee, hone in on my "sound track", and watch a few good movies to inspire my scene set ups.

: Yay for screenwriting!

Hmmm maybe I will. I have movies in my head and my husband has a film production company. I just hate writing them because I'm not getting paid for it, is that terrible?

No, not with the amount of kids you have!

I never would have done it last year if my husband didn't convince me to do it with him. It was fun! You only have to do 3 1/2 pages per day to make the deadline, and with scripts, thats pretty easy (especially if you write a lot of dialogue!).

I'm not sure I'm going to be able to write in the form of a script. But, I decided that I should take the challenge write something every day. If it ends up script-ish, great. If not, I will still have gotten something accomplished!

Wife of 1. Mom of 3. Conquering disability challenges, one achievement at a time.

Carolyn- i visited your blog yesterday & forgot to ask about the scriptwriting software you use. I'm not too happy with Cinergy and I can't find my FinalDraft disk anywhere to install it on my new computer. I was thinking of using the Open Office template, but anyway- what do you use?

I started BTW- I wrote like 14 pages last night.

If I was smart I'd just FINISH the good one I was writing.

I actually started on the 31st, knocked out about 18 pages and then I imported it into Celtx (I hhope I spelled that right) as soon as I finish this job-for-pay I can look at it again. i really like my story, though- and this program is awesome. I wish I could import the script I wrote with Cinergy, that one needs some attention, too. Do you totally watch movies differently when you're writing a script?

Absolutely! We just watched Slumdog Millionaire- I was thinking the whole time "How did they pull this all together? How much of the imagery was described in the script?"

I can't find any one movie that my screenplay is similar to, but I have some favorite movies I'd love to emmulate.

Almost Famous, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, Little Miss Sunshine, The Royal Tenenbaums, etc. I love movies with sharp, funny dialogue, like Oceans Eleven- cheesy, maybe, but I just love that movie.

cdmaze, I love Eternal Sunshine! One of my very favourite films.

As I've said before, although not on this thread, I'm collaborating with my sister on a musical based on the book of Esther. So not only do we have to do 100 pages, but most of them need to rhyme. I really make things easy on myself. I'm currently about halfway through the first song and hopelessly stuck. It's made much harder by the fact that my sister's gonna read it! And did I mention she's an excellent writer? Gah!

If decomposition persists please see your necromancer.
