My dd (7) and her daddy have a very close relationship. She looks up to him more than anyone else. He has played such a huge part in her upbringing this far and now I'm facing doing this all on my own. I have a partner but he can never take the place of her daddy. This past week my dd's father made some very emotional choices and he is facing possibly 15 years in prison. My heart is broken for my dd. I've been laying in bed in tears all night, unable to sleep. How do I tell my dd she will no longer see her daddy anymore? I'm so heartbroken right now. How is this going to effect her? She's so in love with him I know it will be devestating to her.

Why can't she still see him? Is visiting him while he is away not an option? What about letters and phone calls?

I have never had to deal with a situation like this so I don't know how visiting and all that work. But either way that's part of my concern. How traumatic would it be for a 7 yo to see her daddy in that situation? What do you say? How do you deal with that?
