Surgery was a nightmare. I had a nerve block instead of general anesthesia. All I remember for two days is a wall of pain. They sent me home an hour after, w/the pain completely uncontrolled.

Things are slightly better now - just as I'm running out of the good drugs & have to switch to a lower dose.

OMG, Analisa! - that is just awful and SO WRONG. I am so sorry.

Praying that you are on the mend very soon.

I hope the pain lessens as you move to the lower dose. You've really been through the mill. If you're facing a wall of pain again, please do call your doctor and get some more help. Here's to a quick recovery!

Oh, sweetie....I just cannot believe that they would treat you this way! Can you see another doc for pain management?

Oh, man. I was hoping you'd have something by now.

You know, this may be completely impossible, but when DH had shingles last winter, his doctor offered a shot in the shoulder that he said would numb the nerve all the way down the arm for a short while. I wonder whether something like that is available and might be safe in pregnancy because it's just a local anesthetic.

Wish there were more we could do. How long is your sister going to stay?

Whether or not there's a possibility of more pain relief (and I hope there is), your baby is one lucky kiddo! You're going through an awful lot just to be careful for his or her sake, and that's such a loving act on your part.

Wishing you lots of healing and much less pain....

Thank you, E. I turned 32 on Saturday. My arm is much better. I'm way down on pain meds and making great progress in rehab!
