I wanted to do a parallel thread with the "Why husbands really suck sometimes" thread.

Last night my bf and I went to couples therapy, as we have been for the past few months. I was hungry going in (bad idea) and clearly hormonal, because I started yelling at him after our session was over. Then I gave him the silent treatment all through dinner (he took me to my favorite restaurant and bought me food). Then we walked across town to our Bradley class.

Just as we were entering the building, he stopped me, looked into my eyes, said, "Maggi, I love you, and I never want to be without you." He actually got down on his knee and proposed! Ring and everything. I was floored!! I guess he must REALLY like me!

Later I laughed and said, "Well, whenever I'm mad at you, remember all you have to do to cheer me up is propose!"

How cool! Congratulations! And good for you two for going to couples therapy BEFORE you get married, shows something very awesome in him that you are lucky to have.

Congratulations, Maggi! What fun news. Thanks for sharing it.

I think you clearly picked a good one--couples therapy, out to dinner, childbirth classes, and romatic marriage proposal all in ONE EVENING? Double enough to make most men run and hide! Mine would be cowering in the corner after just two of those things put together. You're starting out on the right foot!

warmly,
Kam, mamamama! to Meg and one more

Awwwwwwwwwwwww...
That's wonderful!!!

(Wish I could shrink those glasses of champagne so they'd be a little more appropriate to the amount we can drink. )

You and BF are giving birth to a whole family...truly!

Ahwuko, the ring is silver with a Celtic knot design (he knows I didn't want a sticky-uppy ring or an overpriced diamond!). The wedding ring will be similar but in gold.

Yvonne, yes! Washtenaw Dairy is still there. I do love living in this city.

Seva! When you said you were at an Ann Arbor restaurant, that's the one I pictured! Mmmmm....the squash enchiladas...and the little bowl of fennel seeds at the front desk....

You're making me homesick for Ann Arbor!!

Making plans for the wedding?? Do tell.......
