I WANT MY BODY BACK NOW! Anyone else feel this way? I want to lie on my tummy. I want to be able to walk around for 20 minutes without feeling like my legs are going to swell. I can't tell the difference between gas pain and the baby moving... I'm achy allll over. My hips are double jointed, so I'm not waddling, but I also have almost toppled over 3 seperate times today. I have to pee every 40 mins or less. Even at night. Which means I'm hauling my big pregnant booty in and out of bed like 7-10 times every night.

Sometimes I cant tell if I'm hungry or if I have gas. Oh, and for some more TMI fun I can't tell if I'm constipated or if thats just the baby's head. Gahhhhhhh.

Mws said I'm a candidate for an enema when I go into labor because of my inability to tell. WHAT?!?! I don't want an enema!!!! I've actually planned on never ever sticking anything up my butt. So far, this plan has worked very well for me. Also, I'm not a huge fan of cramps. Call me crazy but I'd just like to concentrate on the contractions, not on the toilet bowl... okaythanksbye.

So anyone have any natural remedies for constipation that do not involve pepper?

Chocolate. The darker the better. No, I'm really not kidding! I first found out this was a constipation remedy in September, visiting DH's cousin who gave chocolate to her year-old triplets because they were constipated and it set off an amazing chain reaction of poop. (Not that this is a remedy I plan to use on my own children, just so you know!)

And personally, every evening after dinner I treat myself to two squares of dark chocolate, and my admittedly empirical research shows that it is, indeed, an effective remedy!

And yes, I too am feeling ready to have my body back. It doesn't help that baby has gotten so big that almost every one of his/her movements either is uncomfortable for me or flat out hurts.

Good luck, mama!!

start taking alfalfa tablets-start with two at breakfast and then add two more at lunch the next day third day take two at breakfast two at lunch and two at dinner. These work great for constipation. I have hemroids right now so it is VERY important to have none of that going on. These tablets have been a lifesaver. The best part is that there is none of the cramping involved with laxatives-plus they add some healthy vitamins to your diet too

I bought mine at walmart-they come in a huge bottle-but the tablets aren't much bigger than aspirin.

"P" foods - prunes, peas, pears, peppers, - you get it. P=poop. LOL. I learned this when DD has poopy problems and it works!

as for the other stuff...

My friend said this is the part of pregnancy where nature makes you think taking care of 2 kids will be easier than being pregnant.

I am thinking so!

Constipation: yes, weird enough, I've started to limit chocolate consumption because it has the same effect on me...
I am also eating yoghurt with beneficial bacteria. I keep switching brands because I get tired of the same flavor over and over. Right now I have Dannon Activa in 'Prune' in the fridge...

OH MY GOSH!!!! You all said EXACTLY what I am feeling!! PERFECTLY, so I am sitting here LAUGHING my HEAD OFF!!!
YES< I do think it will be easier taking care of 2 kids right now than being pregnant!!
I mean, I could actually PICK UP that piece of paper on the floor! Instead of finding someone else to do it, lol!
I could walk up and down the stairs without having to pull out the oxygen.
and yes, every time I go poop, i feel like I am pushing him out!! YIKES!
I get up a zillion times a night to go pee and I wonder EVERY time if my water is breaking! Or every big kick, i wait for the GUSH!!!

I was getting more annoyed by it all, but now that you put it all into words it does seem kinda humorous!!!

thanks for the laugh!

Ok, then I'm the opposite, I've had diarrhea for about 3 weeks. It's something I get towards the "end". But it's that, "holy moly, I'm going to crap my pants if I don't find a bathroom NOW!"

I'm sorry for the constipaty mamas. I'm with Sydnee. Loosey goosey on the stools. I'm definitely pretty uncomfortable but a week or so ago I remember being a lot more grouchy and really wanting some good ole regular mcb body back. I keep wanting to lay on my stomach this week. Mmm, that's going to feel so great when I can finally do that!

Hmph, I just got back from a weekend of sharing a tiny cottage with MIL and DH wherein the water decided to inexpicably not work.

I've been alternating between the two extremes described, and let me tell you, the only thing less fun that peeing every twenty minutes and having erm, other bathroom issues, is having these issues while sharing a toilet with MIL and DH that only gets flushed once a day with a bucket of water from the lake. Oh, and the bathroom is located directly outside of the doorless bedroom DH and I were sharing.

Not fun.

Oh, yikes, tie-dyed, I think you win! I don't think I can even post my gripes after that!

I have to second the alfalfa -- another form you can take it in is liquid chlorphyl. (The kind I get from my HFS is mint flavored and tastes yummy in water.)

I posted a full account of my glorious last child-free "vacation" in TAO. It was a scary, scary time.

This is soooo true! To add to the joy of not being able to bend over, I seem to drop everything I pick up. It is like my fingers don't work. I also, have to pee constantly.

Vitamin C can be good. Also oatmeal, and burdock root tea. These are working for me!

And, the sad truth is - you may not get your body back. I mean, you'll be able to lie on your tummy, but if you're breastfeeding you're entering a whole nother symbiotic relationship requiring your body to be on call all the time - just like now only less convenient. I agree that the discomforts, though, are natures way of making us think caring for a baby will be easier than being pg!

Here as mama to W (2/04), R (5/06), D (7/09), and J (12/9/12!), co-parenting with my DH

I WOH part-time, am a doula & childbirth educator, home/unschool, and hope we are nearing the center of chaos

Cindy, I could have written your post! I am feeling all that too. Going back to stomach sleeping is definately something I look forward to, as is being able to [I]move[I]again, [I]sleep[I]again, etc.

Happy mama of four Wild Things

I'm glad to hear I'm not the only one with diarrhea. One one hand, I don't have to spend much time on the can when I use it, but on the other hand, I have to poop ALL THE DAMN TIME! With very little warning! Ugh. Well, I'm also glad I wasn't the one to bring it up, because I've been wanting to for a while.

And I can't wait to lay on my belly again. That will be divine...
