Ok...as I mentioned in the title I *know* this is a bit childish & I'll get over it...but...

My B & SIL set their wedding date six weeks after ours.

They had their 1st child 3 weeks before our DD was born.

Now...they called last night to say that they are due June 6th!! (2 weeks before us).

At least we told everyone before they did - we were really excited & decided not to wait to tell.

Can't we do anything on our own? :

Ok...rant over & I'm not eally *ANGRY* just had to get that out

I understand that. If it was my SIL, it would bother me a little too. If is was MY sister, I would love it!!

I am happy for them. It's just that this SIL & I don't really get along that well anyway...not that we argue or anything like that - we just aren't close & have very different world views...if it was the SIL that I it wouldn't bother me at all - I would be excited.

I think it's normal to be a little annoyed, but with time, I think you'll grow to maybe even like it. Maybe this will bring you and your SIL closer. Who knows? I understand how you feel though.

I know it is a blessing for them too, but my MIL thinks my SIL is the authority on EVERYTHING and I am just the poor stupid one who can't figure out this whole parenting thing. Of course, I have four and SIL has ONE two year old....She (MIL) is always telling me "SIL does this and that"

So it would bother me because I know that MIL would always be going on about how much better SIL is at all pregnancy things....Make sense??

That would make me

Fortunately that's not much of an issue - it's just awkward at times talking about parenting things w/ this SIL because we are such polar opposites. I know she thinks I am some kind of oddball hippy for nursing so long, co-sleeping, etc. Her son has been in full day daycare since 6 weeks & (I assume) they plan to do the same thing w/ this baby. I don't judge her choices, but they are different from mine & she seems to have a hard time being friends w/ someone (i.e. me) who does things differently.

It would be cool going through pregnancy at the same time if we talked more, had more in common, etc. But somehow it just seems to end up being competitive or her being shocked at our parenting. oh well....now as I get past the inital annyonace it will kind of be a non-issue. I know it's fun for my DH & his brother to share "war stories" about what we are going through....I'm glad they can bond over it even though we wives don't.
