I am new to this area of the board, but thought I'd jump in. I am due June 6, 2006. Thats 06-06-2006. Can I tell you how many people have noticed that I am due on "666"? ( For those who don't know, 666 is supposedly the devil's number) I can laugh and make a joke but I am wondering what you other moms feel about a possible due date on the 6th of June. ANyone weirded out? Anyone not care in the least? Just curious...

I think it's kinda neat, just that all the numbers match. I like even, matching numbers. But, you actually only have about a 2% (I believe) chance of having your baby on your due date.

Probably, I'd just say "woops, I was off on the date of my LMP by a day," and change the due date. Not because I have any issues with the number, but because I'd get really really sick of people saying stuff about it.

Welcome!
I am by my calculations due on June 1st but an u/s the other day said May 28th according to my last period. I am thinking May 24th since its dd's bday and our anniversary. Last time I was due on May 27th.

I'm due June 10th, but last time I went early and, with my luck, I will give birth to a 666 baby.

If I were you, I think I would answer with something equally obnoxious like, "Why, yes, I am giving birth to Beelzebub," or "My husband and I planned it this way. We're planning on naming him Evil."

I'm due 6-9-06 and was thinking 6-6-06 would be neat until it dawned on me That said, it would be superstition to be worried about something like that which doesn't align with my religion so I'm not worried.

Though I would be annoyed by constant comments if that were my due date and I'd hate for my kid to have to grow up dealing with that never-ending "joke"

I agree with a PP, if I were getting constant comments, I'd just "change" my due date to something else - it's not like it really means anything anyway.

At first my due date was 666, but now according to ultrasound I am actually due 6-14. I will have a repeat C Section again, and since my first child was SO BIG at 8lbs 12 oz, they are talking about scheduling a C Section a week early. Also, I am betting no doctor will schedule a C section an a Sunday ( I think 666 is a Sunday). Nonetheless, at first I was like, ohhh! Take Back the number 666 and reclaim it as day of peace joy love and the like! (With chants similar to those from "Take Back the Night" marches from college, anyone else recall those? or still partake? off topic, sorry) Now I am more curious about what to name the child when it comes, etc. BUt I wonder if there will be any.. I dont know... stuff in the world about 666 kids. Call me crazy, but its sort of interesting to me.

We just thought of that the other day and had a good laugh. That would be a week early for me. It would give the li'l bugger some street cred in case he or she has a teen goth phase

Well, I am not due until 6-13, but my DD was born early on 3-3-03, so I think it would be ironic if it was 6-6-06. I am not superstitious, so I wouldn't mind/

I'm due June 6 or June 5. My first baby was born on his due date, so I wonder if this one will be too. At first I thought, Ooooo, cool! 6/6/06! But then I was sort of like, wait, that's 666! I'm not religious at all but it sort of creeped me. Also, my first baby was due 9/14/04, and I kept being worried he'd be born on 9/11. I guess I just don't have great luck with due dates....

Hm. I'm due June 6th as well & the "666" thing *NEVER* entered my mind. Only 2-5% of babies are born on their due date anyway & #1 ran 5 days "late". When I was about 3 or 4wks along with this one, this voice from somewhere said (very loudly & with surety in my head) "June 8". We'll see.

I wouldn't worry about it. Just tell people "early June" & you'll have your bases covered & not have to deal with moronic comments.

I'm back with an update-

I am having a repeat C section and it is in fact scheduled for June 6th. DH and I arent freaked/worried, etc. but my MIL said we should consider whether or not we want to "handicap" our son (its a boy, btw) and put him through the teasing and torture he most certainly will endure as a teenager. We think she's nuts. But... Its nagging at me. I realize shes crazy but then again, ... is she right?... ANy words of wisdom, advice etc?

P.S. We have ruled out the obvious names- Lucifer, Damien, etc.... hahaha

Honestly, in 15 years when your kid tells someone he's born on 6-6-6, there will probably be 10 other kids in school with the same birthday. And by the time they even realize what it means, they'll be so over the comments by others that it won't even matter. Just like people born on 9-1-01... Or (911) I really doubt it's going to affect their livelihood.

If that's a "handicap" - I'd take it any day of the week over a real one. She's nuts!! If kids stay kids, your son is sure to be teased for any number of things...at least a birthdate isn't "personal" like other teasing might be. I wouldn't give it a second thought.

You guys are right. I can only hope that a b-day of 06/06/2006 is the least of his problems. If thats his only "handicap" then I should be thankful. My MIL is a little cooky and I am sure she means well, but it was my first reaction to be like uh huh, WHATEVER... I seriously dont think that a 666 birthday is a huge issue. Thanks for the back up...

I'm due 6/10 but I think I'm a little farther along then my EDD so I'll probably give birth before. My DD was born 7/7 which the number 7 is reference in the Bible several times. It's like a Holy number. It's actually mine and my DH's fav number. It would just be too funny if this next DC was born 6/6/06. Although I doubt it.

My DD's due date was 7/3. My DH from the very beginning predicted that she would be born on the 7th. He was right! This time he said either 6/2 or 6/12....we'll see if he's right again!

I'm due June 5 according to my last period, but the u/s says June 22. Which is a pretty big gap. I tend to lean toward the earlier June date. I never thought about the whole 666 thing. I'm just the kind of person to freak out about that, even though it IS just a number. It contains no real power...but I am pregnant which means I'm a paranoid freak.

I haven't had an u/s. And won't have one unless my midwife thinks there's a reason to which so far...has not been but I know if I had one. My due date would be pushed up. I just really think I'm farther along then what my last period says. Time will tell.

Personally, I wouldn't worry about it, but if it bothers you and you have the "luxury" of a scheduled c-section, why don't you just schedule it for the 5th or the 7th?

P.S. June 6th is St. Norbert's Feast Day.

The weird part - and possibly selfish part, depending on how you look at it and how you feel re: 666- anyway the weird part for me is that part of my teenage rebellion included jokes and references to the devil and 666 ( all joking, not in a serious I the devil way) between me and my best friend, Missie. So its so "me" to have a child on 06/06/2006. I have to be honest in that it feels almost like an extension of my teenage rebellion phase, and so on. Its just so "ME" and my family gets it (not my MIL, she dosnt know about my "past" ha ha) and so do old friends. So I am sortof giggling inside about it. I am feeling generally insecure about life these days, so influences from my MIL about her feelings re: this birthdate lead me to question myself. But the basic thing is that neither DH nor I beleive that 666 is a mark of the devil and will be a sign of evil, etc. So that isnt an issue for us. I am just back and forth insecure about it, kwim?

Due June 6, but number one came two days late and my sister actually went one week late with number three and the chance of birthing on your due date is minimal... So, what the heck, 6-4-6 or 6-8-6 sounds good to me. I like even numbers...

Me too, dh does not get my obsession with giving birth on an even numbered day. My mom is the same way, everything has to be even! Personally, I wouldn't mind 6-6-06. Its just another day, and an even one, so that's just fine by me! I'd actually prefer 6-6 to 6-5 or 6-7.

That date doesn't weird us out at all. We've even laughed about if she did come on that day what would people think. However, ours is not due until June 20th and well.. She doesn't show any signs of coming anytime soon.
