I had a pre-natal scheduled for today but we moved it to next week. My midwife's husband died last saturday and his funeral was yesterday. I feel so aweful for her because she is the kindest, sweetest, funniest woman and I liked her husband too. I'm so glad she is surrounded my family right now. Her SIL is her partner and will most likely be doing the next few appointments (she lives next door.) She has one son at home still that is around 17 as well as other family in the area. I couldn't make it to the funeral and I want to do something for her but I don't know what. She eats really healthy but has in the past expressed a like for cheesecake so perhaps I'll bake one and take it with me next tuesday.

That's really sad news. I agree that the cheesecake would be a really thoughtful gesture.
