I just read this summary of a large Dutch study. I'm curious to know what you think about it. I had a birth at home in the NL in 2005.

There are several studies that support the Homebirth/Midwifery Dutch modell.
In fact the UK and Scandinavian countries try to adapt them for the health and cost benefits.

Thanks for the link! Is there anywhere we can read the whole study? A friend of mine told me news about this study was discussed on the Dutch TV show "2 Vandaag" and that they reported homebirth was found to coincide with higher infant mortality . From what I read on this site, that is not the case at all.

I'm Olivia. I blog about physiological childbirth, homebirth, and unassisted homebirth!

I have the pdf of the journal article and would be happy to send it to you. If you send me a pm with an email address I'll send you the file. I thought there were a few inaccurate assumptions in the summary from the link I posted.
