It's amost 3am and, my 15 year old cat, part feral, is dying in my arms. I woke to find she had messed the bed. I cleaned up her and the sheets (she barely moved) and wrapped her in towels. She doesn't seem to be in pain, just breathingly shallowly and staring into space. I plan to spend the night holding her and talking gently to her until she passes.
Kind words of pet widom and any faith apppreciated as I help her pass. It has been/will be a long night.

Have you ever read Rainbow Bridge? I'm very sorry you are going through this. Poor kitty.

I am so sorry. I went through a similar experience with my beloved kitty a while back. Just hold her, love her, thank her and let her know it is OK for her to leave you now. After my beloved passed, I had him cremated and his ashes rest by my bed now because he ALWAYS slept curled up against me.

It's been over a year for me, and I've moved several times (part of the reason he was cremated opposed to buried) and I still occasionally find a kitty hair just popping up out of nowhere. And I know it is him because he was my only pet then and I don't have one now. So I know he is still around me. I talk to his picture sometimes. And I still get teary-eyed when I think of him a lot.

I've had many cats over the years. Each one is a special little being. It's so hard when they go. I'm sure that your kitty knows that you love her and senses your comforting presence as she moves on.
