We had to put our dog to sleep tonight. He was a 15 year old black pug.

I got him right after I was diagnosed with cancer and he sat by me and followed me everywhere I went. He laid with me on the couch when I felt like crap after chemo. He also licked my face and tried to help me feel better. His previous owner had died and he came to us at about 7 years old. Later he went on to become my dd's friend and started sleeping every night with her.

We are all so sad. I don't even know what to say.

I am so, so sorry A. I still have a picture of Cleo as my desktop background, one on my fridge, an artist's portrait of her on the wall. Your dog was so lucky to have you for a mamma.

I am so sorry about your dog Arduinna! I know the pain and grief you feel. Pets aren't just pets are they.......

My little dog died recently and I sent out a death annoucement. It was very healing and it felt like such a tribute to her. I also didn't feel right that a vital part of my family had died and nobody knew. I wanted everyone to know YKWIM? Plus I didn't want to have to talk about it everyone someone called or I ran into them........

Anyway,

Trying to do the right thing with three kids and a hubby.

Sorry for your loss; I know how truly difficult it is to lose such a beloved furry friend. There is something really and truly special about pugs too the love with their whole hearts and just completely give themselves over to their people.
My mom just lost her precious 11 year old pug 2 weeks ago, boy did we love that dog.
Take care.

I am so very sorry. The loss of a pet is heartbreaking. I still miss my 19 year old cat that died in my arms when I was just 13, but sometimes I swear she is with me when times get rough. I am sure that your dog will be looking out for your family and giving you spiritual face lickings when you need them. How is your daughter holding up?
