I know we have photo threads periodically, but I never seem to have good, recent photos when we do that. I do, now, and they're all in one spot, so I'm starting a thread!

Here they all are.

What lovely kitties!

Here's my pup (and my sons), playing in the Mississippi River:

At the very beginning - the Headwaters in Itasca State Park.

You know it's shallow when my Corgi can wade across!

Sophie is a long haired Chihuahua. She was pretty overweight when we got her in December. She is gradually slimming down.

It's fun to see pet pictures.

As a big girl.

And last, but not least, Kali. My old girl:

Sun bathing.

Yeah, both of the twins (as we call them) do. They probably have a little of that swimming around in their genes--they're mutt cats from turtle's sister's farm (where feral cats periodically appear to have their kittens) and they look NOTHING like the rest of the litter (who were calico and light tabby and VERY short-haired).

Only when she's hungry. She doesn't have the typical siamese yowl, which I kind of miss, my last siamese would have full on conversations with me.

She's one of my wild kitties from outside. She came in the laundry room door one night and decided to stay. I can't believe this is the same cat.

Mason's got that, though he's clearly a mix. He'll sit and talk to that vent in the kitchen for HOURS. And every morning, he goes into the basement and talks to himself, trying to encourage the other cats to go down there and play with him. It's hilarious. I love the talky siamese thing!

Aw! Kissa's a former feral cat, too. You would NEVER know it now. She loves people and her very favorite thing is to crawl under the covers with turtle and me and just purr herself silly. I think my favorite great aunt sent her to me, so I named her for that aunt's cats--she had a long string of cats, all of whom were named Kissa (which means "kitty" in Finnish).

Illy does the Siamese-talking too. It drives Mark nuts, but he's getting more OK with it now that he understands she's not in distress, she just likes to hear herself.

Yeah, too bad he's such an anti-social little butt. :

I mean - we risked DH's considerable wrath to save him from starving and freezing to death, got him dewormed, deflea'd, love him, play with him, meet all his needs and then some. Heck - I learned to KNIT just so I could make him a felted pi bed ... and he IGNORED it.

The little pisser could show some gratitude, y'know?

Well, on the upside, at least he didn't PEE on it, as Sevyn did with the bed I bought for him to welcome him into the pride.

:

i'm still working on our kitty pi's (well, "working on" in the sense that occasionally when i'm excavating my yarn stash i see the bag they're in and think "oh, i should really finish those" and then immediately ignore them ) and i think ours would react about the same way.

aren't cats great? (or maybe i'm just bitter that sophie coughed up a big nasty hairball on the guest bed )
