My dog has an ugly looking gash on his fatty deposit. He got it while we were out of town and the dogsitters can't figure out what happened. They assumed it was a cut, but I'm wondering if something inside the fatty deposit could have infected and it ruptured or something. It is in such an odd place that it's hard to figure out what happened.

Does anyone have experience with this?

Thanks!

This is a lipoma?

I don't believe they usually do anything but sit there and look ugly. So I would blame a cut or injury as well.
