My son is still too young for me to have a story, but I remember 15 years ago a moment my mom had. My parents were at their friends' house for dinner one evening when my mom called me at home and asked if I had heard from my (older) brother. She felt like something was wrong and started praying. He was supposed to be driving home (New York) from Pennsylvania where his girlfriend lived. I hadn't heard from him and we had no way to reach him, but we found out a few hours later that he had been in a serious car accident. He had looked down at a map and crossed over the Thruway median. The car was totaled and it was a miracle that he wasn't hurt.
