This is mostly a vent, but if someone has constructive advice, I'd love to hear it.

I have two kids, 1.5 DS and almost 5 DD. DS worships DD but has a hard time with boundaries. He thinks it's funny when he hits himself (lightly) on the stomach and says "boom" and falls down laughing -- so he does the same thing to DD. DD doesn't think it's funny at all and starts crying and yelling. But DD wants (sometimes) to play with DS, so gives him complicated rules to follow for her game, which he of course isn't able to follow. Crying by both follows.

DD's newest thing is to act like DS's more annoying behaviors. They are annoying when either kid does it, but particularly DD, since she knows better. For example, last night I was trying to make dinner, and BOTH kids were hanging onto my legs repeating "mommy, mommy" over and over.

There is too much crying and yelling in my house. I am going to lose it.

No advice, I'm not there yet (DD2 is only 3 mos, DD1 is 33 months) but wanted to reply with a hug2.gif

Hugs, mama.  No advice but I can completely commiserate.  Both of mine do the same thing, imitating one another's behavior.  My 3.5yo loves to shriek just like the baby and, even more annoyingly, is throwing things in anger since younger DD does it.  DD2 loses her temper and hits DD1, pulls her hair -- things DD1 never thought to do until, well, her sister did it first.  Argh.  I'll be watching this thread.

ahhhhhh, my kids do the same stuff.  the big one just turned five and the little one is just over one and a half.  when the big one copies the baby it drives me up the wall!!  no advice, none at all.  lucky for them they are so cute.

It's nice to know I'm not alone, even if no one has found the magic solution.

dd 7.75 and ds 5 do the same.  DS gets in her face.  she gets frustrated.  She initiates games he can not follow more frustration and fights.  drives me nutty.
