My youngest (4) is totally intrigued by guns. I have explained my position to him and he understands but it's almost like he's obsessed. He can look at a flyer and points out the picture of toy guns. "That's shaped like a gun, right mom. So you won't buy it, right mom?" When we go shopping, he finds every gun and talks about it, shows me, etc. etc.
I've made it clear and he completely gets that I won't spend my money to buy him a gun or anything that looks like a gun, but I am also concerned about it becoming "forbidden" and that making it more appealing to him in some way.
Any thoughts about this?
