We are planning a couple of long car trips this summer. While some of the driving will (hopefully) be done while the kids sleep, alot will be during the daytime.

My oldest dd (8) gets violently carsick, espeicially if she reads or writes in the car, even a little (like if you are playing hang man or cards). We use sea bands, gin gins, etc, and it helps, but she still can't read or write.

We have lots of music and books on tape, but sometimes you just want to play games. Other than the alphabet game (where you look for letters on signs) I really don't know many. Plus, our other dd (5) can't really read yet.

Can any of you suggest some brainteasers, oral or singing games to do? I can't read either (or knit, or write...) in the car without getting violently carsick, either, so I can't read to them. DH can read in the car, so while I am driving, he could read brainteasers or trivia games, and that would be fun, but what else can we do?

Do you have any suggestions? Any trivia games, and word games, etc?

Thanks for your suggestions!

Lori

I don't have a car, but I found this website full of ideas!
It's titled 101 Car Travel Games and Road Trip Games for Kids, so it might have at least something your kids might enjoy!
